The Suicide of Rachel Foster is a first-person narrative exploration game that digs into certain heavy themes. The game delivers a remarkable and imposing attention to detail, and an astounding sound design. It has an eerie atmosphere, intriguing setting, and a fine voice acting that is filled with emotion. Unfortunately, it is not enough to offer a satisfying experience. The premise of the game is interesting, but the execution was disappointing. The pacing of the focal mystery is inconsistent, and the way the days progress is under par. There are barely any items to read, and there are hardly any puzzles to solve. The game is not overly extensive, and it has a few issues of bugs and glitches. The Suicide of Rachel Foster feels like an opportunity mishandled and could have been a compelling equivalent to other games of the same genre.

Florence is a visual novel game that is not afraid to tell an ordinary story. It is a captivating and unique experience that is comprised of different elements that work seamlessly together. Its terrific writing manages to convey profound concepts without ever becoming repetitive, and none of the puzzles are particularly intricate. The art style is exceptional and imposing, and it is accompanied by an emotional soundtrack that effectively accentuates every moment in the game. Florence is definitely not an extended game, but it astonishingly captures the complexities of love, loss, and personal growth.

The Red Strings Club is a narrative-driven game that delivers a complex and tight story. Its futuristic exploration of themes creates an experience that is profoundly compelling. It has an imposing retro pixel art style, impressive sound design, and a remarkable soundtrack that captures the cyberpunk atmosphere. The gameplay is unique and fairly minimal, and the characters are intricate and captivating. Regardless of having a short runtime, The Red Strings Club is an astounding and engaging game with a lot of thought put into it.

Tacoma is a first-person narrative exploration game that presents an astonishing vision of the future. It is an imposing game that has a terrific and intricate setting, and a remarkable atmosphere. The attention to detail is outstanding, the sound design helps make it further engaging, and each character gave something distinctive to the story that every single one feels genuine and unique. Tacoma delivers a satisfying experience nearly in all aspects. It is certainly not a drawn-out game, but it manages to tell a compelling science fiction tale about mortality and relationships in the midst of adversity.

Gone Home is a first-person narrative exploration game that has a rich and absorbing story. It deals with themes not generally discussed in video games, and it is carried out with an admirable level of morality. The attention to detail, light puzzle solving, and eerie atmosphere adds to the total experience. The game has a poignant and exceptional soundtrack, and the voice acting is astounding making emotional moments flourish. Despite having a brief runtime, Gone Home is a compelling and thoughtful game that is not going to appeal to everyone's desire.

The Callisto Protocol is a third-person survival horror game that forms an ideally bleak science fiction world. It is a visually captivating and imposing game that is brimming with interesting concepts. It has a remarkable and outstanding sound design that enhances the utterly oppressive atmosphere. The character models are rendered incredibly well, and the voice acting is terrific. The Callisto Protocol does have its moments and a few surprises here and there. Unfortunately, it fails to reinvigorate the genre in any meaningful way. The game is weighed down by its disappointing story and gameplay. It is fairly linear, it lacks enemy variety, and it suffers from a limited number of bugs and glitches. Even though it might not meet the expectations of its obvious inspiration, The Callisto Protocol still delivers an engaging and thrilling experience. Also, The Callisto Protocol: Final Transmission continues directly after the conclusion of the main game. It retains the positive aspects of the base game and could have been the expansion to set the game in the right direction. Sadly, it just emphasizes what was already underwhelming about The Callisto Protocol.

Distraint 2 is a 2D psychological horror game that continues from the occurrence of Distraint. The game displays more alarming and disconcerting visuals, and the sound design have refined that alters from soothing to frightful sounds. The gameplay is nearly the same, the puzzles are equitably simplistic, and the soundtrack does a terrific job in creating an oppressive and melancholic atmosphere. Distraint 2 is an improvement over its predecessor. It is not a lengthy game, but it has a compassionate story about finding hope in the most difficult moments.

Distraint is a 2D psychological horror game that displays a lot of creative value. The game drifts a little permissive between reality and unreality, but the presentation evokes an effectively peculiar and unsettling atmosphere, and solely improved by the exceptional sound design. Distraint rarely leans on cheap jump scares, opting instead for a slow-burning horror to establish a feeling of anxiety. The gameplay is simple and fairly minimal, and the puzzles provides just enough substance to carry through to its dramatic conclusion. Distraint is surely not a protracted game, but it has a captivating and unique story about greed.

Inside is a 2D puzzle platformer game that has a simple, but gloomy art style defined by muted colors and faceless figures. Its mystery filled dystopian world is brought to life through its grim atmosphere and remarkable sound design. The game displays a subtle attention to detail, the animation is fluid, and the puzzles are direct, but sometimes perplexing. Inside is downright uncanny throughout. It is a short-lived game, but it brings astounding set pieces and a memorable final sequence.
