I really enjoy Reus 2. I played the original a bit, but wasn't so keen on its real time with pause system. The sequel is turn-based, which is far more to my liking. The game is complex enough to keep you thinking, but not so hard that you'll be defeated by poor luck or a few bad decisions, and there are plenty of ways to hit your targets, rather than a single winning strategy. There have been regular free content updates since launch, with more to come in addition to purchasable expansions. Once again, Abbey Games has released a fantastic game with lasting appeal. Renowned Explorers remains one of my favourite games and I loved Godhood too.

This was one of my favourite games of the year. It has enough randomness to keep it interesting, but not so much as to define the difficulty of the game. You can choose from a variety of win conditions to aim for, with several degrees of difficulty for each, and there's enough scope to develop winning strategies or to adapt to whatever the game throws at you.

This game is great. Short and crazy.
