The Beast Inside builds a double scenario within which the two protagonists of the story move: Adam , in 1979 and Nicholas , in 1864. More than a hundred years of distance elapse between the two actors in the story, yet they turn out to be much closer than expected. one can imagine, because the buried mysteries will suddenly resurface and create an immediate and dangerous bond between the two.
The Beast Inside will often jump from one character to another at the end of each chapter, telling the misadventures of the two in parallel.

On the one hand there is Adam, a cryptanalyst for the American government in charge of decrypting messages from the Soviet Union precisely during the Cold War period. However, Adam decides to spend some time with his pregnant wife in the old family home, immersed in the middle of a bucolic environment and isolated from the world. Everything seems to be going great, until Adam accidentally stumbles upon an old diary while looking for paint in the attic. As he begins to read, the action will move to Nicholas, taking on decidedly darker and more frightening connotations, with a rather sharp change of atmosphere. Just with Nicholas you will wander around the house immersed in complete darkness, with only the aid of matches and an old oil lamp to lighten your path, while sinister noises,

The risk that you may be left groping in the dark is almost nil, since the resources will never be lacking and the game is so linear that it does not leave too much room for blind wanderings. Even outside, where The Beast Inside will push you several times to investigate the events, discover the buried secrets and discover the truth in different buildings from the initial one, there is no such danger. However, there will be others, some of which must also be tackled with a revolver. However, know that The Beast Inside is absolutely not a horror that often leaves you using weapons to take down threats, as it has a completely different approach and more oriented towards exploration and the effectiveness of the atmosphere.

Two of Two
As Adam, The Beast Inside reveals all his two-faced nature, venturing more into the realm of thriller and setting aside pure horror. Not only are the game sections substantially all daytime, but also the actions to be performed all point towards that direction. Consider, for example, the presence of a particular device called a quantum locator, capable of showing the residual traces of those who were in specific places through a cathode ray tube screen. Seeing the so-called quantum clouds is not always possible, and the game will force you to use it at the times when it is expected, giving rise to some short investigative phases.

The phases in question first provide for a search, directed by the percentage of proximity visible on the screen and by the alignment of the two green lines towards the upper central part, which clearly indicate which direction to follow. Once you reach the location and scan, it is possible that you will find interference. It will therefore be up to you to load the quantum locator and shoot at the masses that disturb the signal: all this, again through the screen, because with the naked eye you will literally see nothing.

Graphically The Beast Inside has very little to envy to other productions of the genre, and also uses the photogrammetry technique to make the external environments as realistic as possible. The same cannot be said for the polygonal modeling of the faces, or the rare animations that can be glimpsed during certain scenes. The puzzles, on the other hand, are excellent: some complex, others more immediate, for a well-balanced balance that will satisfy anyone.
