I am in the final stretch of the game. This remake just isn't for me at all, the combat is painfully generic and somehow feels like a better version of Callisto Protocol which for more context I really don't like Callisto Protocol's combat at all, I think it's one of the worst. The acting and writing lost all subtlety and is just flat asf in tone, Bloober Team had no idea what made the og symbolism and writing interesting. They made some of the dungeons way too long and linear, this game is way too action focused that it makes it annoying to move around anywhere when I have to fight the same few enemies over and over again, and on top of that it kills the tone and atmosphere when I am just mowing down enemies with a steel pipe bobbing and weaving at the same time. The character models look gross and weird which I think it's a UE5 problem and a Bloober Team making them look ugly on purpose, I still don't like Maria's new outfit which hurts the symbolism for her character significance throughout the story but I know bots are going to tell me to stop complaining and enjoy the game like a good little consumer. Angela's character is just ok to me and let me get this out of the way, her new design is just not good and looks like a dude in some scenes, and I know people yet again are going to seethe reading that but her character is just not that well directed at all in this and the abstract daddy fight is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this time around and lost all amounts of subtlety basically shoving her backstory down your throat which is not the way too handle that at all and plus the fight itself was just bad.

Also fix the performance in the game Bloober, this game runs like ♥♥♥♥ sometimes and the traversal stutters are really bad sometimes otherwise that it runs ok for the most part. For everyone that reads this review, make sure to use upscaling to get the best performance possible but expect stutters still

That's all I have so far but I am going to finish the game tomorrow so I can play Sparking Zero but I will finish this review sometime in the next couple days.

I finished the game and what do I think of it?
The game as a remake is terrible.
As a game by itself it's just ok at best.
- Very flat acting
- They completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the tone
- Mary reading the letter at the end had the soul sucked out of it.
- Combat is boring throughout the whole game with very little enemy variety to compensate for how much combat they force on you.
- The Toluca water prison section was completely ruined.
- They ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the tape scene where it reveals the twist which pissed me off the most.
- No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ subtlety in the symbolism and just spoon feeds you the message and twist.
- Yellowtape on pushcarts which is a stupid and dumb gimmick for modern game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that dont bother with looking around or paying attention.

To finish this review off and for me to never touch this game again and while I keep playing the og until I die.
Should you buy this as a og fan? No you shouldn't!
Should you buy this as new fan? Sure I guess but don't expect much.
This one of the worst games I have played this year and after the two year wait this just confirms that Bloober Team didn't deserve this at all.
