the best destiny expansion of all time across the 2 games and it's not exactly close.

a year or two ago, i left a review on the game as it was my primary game at the time, and i called it the "best looter shooter" on the market. since then, the game has shown it's age with constant technical issues. this, along with underwhelming content drops every 3-4 months, and the last yearly expansion being abysmal(esp the story aspect of it), has left a sour taste in my mouth about the game. often times resorting to playing ONLY when its raid night with the guys.

dont get me wrong, the game is a fun experience, especially when you're learning it. however the gateway to entry is way too high for the subsequent trade off. to enjoy the game in it's entirety, you NEED the dlcs. d2 without the dlc's is a watered down demo. it's actually sad how little f2p content there is now, given almost ALL of the base game is gone now (lol if u paid $60 for it in 2017 rip nerd)

while there's plenty of planets, poi's, strikes, raids, dungeons, pvp, etc. and all of it is very fun for the first few run throughs, the base asking price is not worth what you receive. and even THEN, after so many hours and so many playlist activities, it becomes a more of a chore to do rather than a fun experience. & this is not the games fault. it just lacks a reason to keep bringing you back once you've experienced everything once or twice.

hopefully final shape will have the community sentiment higher than it's been since february, and ignites this game with something fresh to do, which it desperately needs. until then, the game will just sit in my backlog, and i will be visiting sparingly between content drops.
