Atmospheric and enjoyable game with an interesting combat system. The main story is a little generic (though I do find Sebastian Sallow's relationship line interesting). I 100% completed this game, though keep in mind that the collections and Merlin trials are the most tedious ♥♥♥♥ you will ever do. Attempt at your own discretion I suppose...

After 100% completion of Horizon Zero Dawn, I can confidently conclude that this game was an absolute blast to complete. The story, while perhaps generic, is still rather entertaining to witness unfold as you watch Aloy develop as a character.

However, where this game is at is strongest is in regards to it's combat system. The bow and arrow combat against machinery almost always provides a rush of satisfaction. As you increase you abilities on the skill tree and upgrade your gear, you feel increasingly more powerful against what was once insurmountable foes.

The experience to achieve a perfect game/100% was rather straightforward, consisting of mostly a reasonable number of collectables and combat challenges. I honestly can't recommend this game enough and am very excited to see what Forbidden West has to offer! 🏹

This game is a masterpiece in essentially every aspect in each of the gameplay categories and genres it attempts to emulate. The story is an absolute roller coaster that captivates the player from onslaught up until the epic finale, finding a perfect balance between action and survival horror. The gun play is incredibly in depth with a plethora of vastly different weapons to choose from and unlock, almost all of which being immensely satisfying to use against the variety of enemies you will encounter in the game. After 100% completion, I can absolutely recommend this piece of art to anyone remotely interested in the Resident Evil Franchise. 👌

Resident Evil Village is an excellent, well - paced, and tense continuation of Ethan Winter's endeavors to yet again rescue another member of his immediate family. Having played Village immediately after completing Resident Evil 7, The Ethan Winters Saga came to a meaningful and satisfying close (albeit with enough unanswered questions to allow the series to continue).

From the onslaught, Village's excellent presentation in terms of visuals and audio design is impeccable. Story moments are immersive due to the superb animation, made possible by motion capture technology. Furthermore, Each member apart of the wide cast of characters was performed exceptionally by their respective actors, especially by that of the four lords. Enemy encounters and atmosphere are made far more tense due to the great audio design, allowing for needed tension and horror to build when needed. The variety of environments in which this game takes place in also add to the experience, in areas such as Victorian Castle Dimitrescu, the dilapidated Village, and Heisenberg's underground factory. The level of detail and polish that went into each of the environments by the team at Capcom is phenomenal, made possible by the latest version of the RE engine.

Combat this time around, when compared to Resident Evil 7, is the forefront of the experience. The gunplay is satisfying and fairly balanced overall, although continue to expect enemies to act as "bullet sponges", a staple of the resident evil franchise. Ammunition and weapon variety is increased considerably over Resident Evil 7, allowing for a more action - oriented experience. As a direct result of this, enemy encounters are less scary this time around, mostly due to the fact that they can be easily disposed of due to the emphasis on combat. Moreover, the jarring nature of many of the enemies found throughout the game also become less tense as the experience progresses, as you will see many of the same enemies due to the lack of variety. This was an issue with Resident Evil 7 as well, although this is a minor gripe. Furthermore, boss encounters are a delight and a considerable leap forward from Resident Evil 7, having mitigated the use of weak points which I find quite basic. Each combat encounter is still fairly streamlined and simple however, allowing for the game to progress at a fairly quick rate. The difficulty can be increased, to the extent of the inclusion of "Village of Shadows" which in itself is a much more challenging means to play the game.

Post launch content has been a treat as well, due to the likes of "Shadows of Rose" DLC, the expansion of the mercenaries mode, VR support, third person perspective, and more. This further adds to the replay value of Village, although this has always been a given for most Resident Evil titles.

Overall, I have had an incredible experience with Resident Evil Village and look foward to see what the team at Capcom will continue to with the Resident Evil Franchise! I thoroughly recommend!
