Terry-fying journey under the waves

The concept of SOMA is very interesting as it takes you to the depths of the isolated Atlantic ocean where you will meet all kinds of strange and hostile entities. Having seen many positive reviews of this game, I decided to give it a try without much thought beforehand. After many successful releases, Frictional Games brings yet another masterpiece to the market. The gripping story alone makes me want to keep on, discover the dark mysteries of the beautifully executed game world and face many existential questions. I used to think that SOMA was overrated but once I got in, I've got to acknowledge its potential. It has one of the best stories ever told and provides some food for thought.

It's said that the enemy encounters are not its forte, but I personally think that if not for them, SOMA would've been just another walking simulator. Everything in the game is amazing, maybe the monsters being just "good" makes them stand out. Every enemy requires a different approach and if the pressure is too much to handle, you can choose to play in safe mode. It should also be noted that this game doesn't hold your hand at all. As a non-native English speaker, I occasionally found myself a bit stuck.

SOMA is fear-inducing, and stressful, definitely requires you to use your wits to survive. I've never been this reluctant to play a horror game which is a testament to its nerve-racking atmosphere, although I have enjoyed the game's many good spooks. I can't recommend this masterpiece enough - just buy it, okay? Not only will you get a heart attack but you will also fall into an existential crisis. Oh, and don't forget a tissue; you'll need it at the end.
