Against the Storm is terrific. It's an excellent blend of city-building and roguelike elements that keeps the experience feeling fresh and unpredictable, but without being nearly as stressful and taxing as roguelikes (typically action games) tend to be.

You start settlements from scratch in service of the Smoldering City and must deal with resource gathering and consumption, environmental challenges, and the needs and skills of the species working in your town. Persistent upgrades acquired in the Smoldering City gradually enhance your capabilities and unlock new features, as you'd expect from a roguelike. There's a lot to this game--systems, mechanics, buildings, resources, biomes, and so so many modifiers. Crucially, there are several difficulty modes to chose from for each settlement you make, so you can balance the experience as you go to be more relaxed or more intensive. It's just brilliantly put together.
