Ignore the 3 hours playtime, I've spent many hours in my lifetime on Vice City.
Personally, I was one of the rare children who was allowed to play GTA games and this was the first video game that really made me go "wow."

It's hard to grasp now with how far games have come as a whole, but in 2002 there didn't exist games where you could just freely attack NPC's, steal any vehicle you saw, interact with absolutely anything that moved. Most interactions in games were scripted, and "friendly" NPC's couldn't be harmed. Therein lies the greatness of GTA, it allows you, the player, to make the decision whether or not something should live or die. Which when combined with the free roaming atmosphere and the titular vehicular theft, makes for an experience that at the time was unparalleled in terms of freedom of reign, GTA created its own genre.
There were shooter games, where you carried out missions to complete objectives. There were standard racing games and even the Driver series on the original Playstation where you carried out missions as a wheelman, but no game before GTA III combined all of those elements into one amalgamation of greatness.

Where Vice City excels far and above over it's predecessor in GTA III is it's story line and characters. You are Tommy Vercetti, voiced by legendary actor Ray Liotta (such films as Goodfellas and Blow.) a man who has been locked up for 10 years for crimes committed in the name of the mafia families. Tasked with making a drug deal gone wrong, you're forced into a cat and mouse game of finding out who stole the mob boss and in turn your boss, Sonny Forelli's, cocaine and money. In the game you'll find countless references to 80's culture. Gangster and Action movies, Atari style video-games, parents who think everything is evil, political satire, and lots and lots of music - all things you'll hear referenced or played on the radio. Yup. It's the 1980's.

Low polygon count and low-res textures by today's standards be damned.
Turn off the frame limiter, set the game to 1080p 32bit, and just get lost in time with this classic game. The atmosphere is something you need to experience to know. Driving down the long roads of Vice City at night seeing the lights and hearing Billie Jean is what they make dreams out of.

An awesome game for anyone who's a fan of the old Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi games. Enter Conton City, home to the Time Patrol. Complete with crazy amounts of in depth character customization, pick one of 5 races from the Dragon Ball Universe to create your own Time Patroller and set out to prevent changes to history in the Dragon Ball timeline. Whether you like to team up with friends or play solo, this game features a great community and player base where you're certain to find whatever it is you're looking for. If you're on the fence, pick it up and try it out.
