Among my favorites of all the throwback shooters of the last few years. Arguably the best Build Engine game as well.

Has some of the most satisfying guns to shoot. The Dispenser (shotgun) and Loverboy (revolver) are the best examples of this. The way enemies heads burst open when you shoot them in the face never gets old.

Level design is top tier. The sheer amount of content for the price is well worth it. It has a kickass soundtrack that really fits the ambience and overall aesthetic.

Shelly Harrison is a bad-ass protagonist with hilarious dialogue. The dialogue overall is riddled with double entendres and dark humor. Tons of references and easter eggs. At times a bit cringeworthy, but fitting of the style of game Ion Fury aims to be.

Enemy AI can be buggy sometimes. Especially when playing at the higher difficulty settings and aiming for 100% kills.; They have a tendency to get stuck or spawn out of bounds.

Despite its few flaws, Ion Fury is still a fantastic boomer shooter with tons of content, and eough challenge & variety to warrant repeated playthroughs.

I highly recommend it.

It's Quake. You should know by now... That being said, some questionable decisions were made with this "enhanced" version. Nightmare skill caps your health at 50 (except when picking up mega health) and ogres no longer spam grenades the way they should. Good thing I have this game on GOG as well.

Early Access Review
This game is a gem. If you like arena shooters and games akin to Doom or Quake, with some arcady elements, this is the one for you. Ultrakill is a game with good variety, challenge, slick controls and a unique spin on a familiar formula. Make no mistake though, this one really sets itself apart. Don't let the retro style presentation fool you. Ultrakill will kick your ass, but will also reward you greatly for quick thinking, precision and creativity. There are many combo variations within its arsenal as it is quite robust even in this early access build.

You'll have tons of fun with it and you'll feel unstoppable once you get into a groove and understand all the nuances. I highly recommend it.
