After 3 years of owning this game, I can safely say that this game is not worth the 20$ price tag, it is far too frustrating to play for long sessions solo. The game's learning curve and community at times can be extremely helpful or toxic. No matter what happens in this game, you will get mad. The hitboxes are worst than league. It has the same issue league has with matchmaking. So why play this game?... The only reason I find purpose from playing this game is with other people, the killer experience is a true nightmare, soloqueing has an issue that if there's a sfw, the solo is likely to get neglected. Furthermore, as a long time player it truly makes me sad to get certain maps reworked in the way they do, to this extent it can be fine if key parts of the map remain the same, however when it's to the extent of autohaven I believe that the extra effort spent could be better used for fixing the hitboxes or anything other than skins. On another topic skins are far too polar, it is likely that a person who keeps this game as a hobby will never see an earned iridescent shard skin. Perks and addons are always either broken or completely outmatched. Certain addons combos make a reward unearned, see iridescent head and military belt. Certain play styles have a lack of counterplay, such as tunneling and camping, when they do, it is usually in the form of deciding a whole perk on 1 situation. Ultimately it is sad, as this is the only game of its kind, Deathgarden took a death to it's playerbase, Friday the 13th drowned itself, and Last Year was dead the moment it released on Discord. Despite this the developers are decided to addressing these concerns, but I believe no change will happen soon.
The main point is buy this game on sale and play it with friends. Casually it is just a game to play while talking with friends. Competitively you'll be ripping your hair out. And in rank hell, it's just disappointing and lacks the foundation that should be in all games, fun.
