who would play this game

My life had no purpose before I played this game.
I was depressed, working a job that didn't pay for anything except a single package of ramen noodles every week.
I felt hollow and dead.
The world seemed dull and meaningless.
I would sometimes stay awake for days on end, wondering if my life would ever change.
Then I found this game.
It took a day to download since all I had was my local McDonald's for wifi but I had hope.
Hope that I had never felt before.
So I waited patiently.
I watched the download slowly progress as the day passed by and it became night.
Then, finally, it was finished.
By golly, it was finished.
I was shaking from excitement.
But I was nervous.
"What if it doesn't help?", I thought.
But I mustered my strength and clicked play.
I was confronted by... some sort of divine being.
His hands, beckoning me to click the button.
"Duel", the button said.
My mouse hovering over it, I hesitated.
It was glowing as if it were the gates of Heaven itself beckoning me.
I clicked.
"searching..."
"This is it", I thought to myself.
My character popped onto my screen.
Or was I his character?
I could not ponder such a thing now.
My adversary, who had already taken a rock, my lifeblood, into his hands.
He took aim, but I was already upon him.
I quickly clothslined him with my left arm.
I saw the reddish orange glow of the chunk of earth to my right, so I prepared a rock to counter my opponent's return to life.
As he exploded out of his rock, I let loose with mine, easily taking him out yet again.
We continued with this little game of whack-a-mole until he had no more rocks to birth him.
I rushed him, arms spread wide.
He fell before me.
Alas, I needed not charge him.
His pilot was weak, but we were strong.
We are strong.
And with that, I was the victor.
My partner, now as a part of me, turned to peer at me through the screen.
He nodded slowly and I did the same.
Then, the screen went black.
That was it.
But I would be back, as would he.
Many, many times.
