I'd like to start this review by saying this:

DJMAX RESPECT V (this game) is a PC port of the original DJMAX RESPECT on the PS4. It is a keyboard rhythm game in which you hit notes to music. The PC and PS4 versions are 2 separate games. The PS4 version is designed for a PS4 controller, while the PC version includes all PS4 charts plus hundreds of SC patterns that are specifically for keyboard.

DJMAX RESPECT V has a few licensed songs from Marshmello, Porter Robinson, and League of Legends, 7 player online mode, and air mode.

DJMAX RESPECT PS4 has arcade mode, 1v1 online and you both have to have PS+, local multiplayer, offline play.

Now that's out of the way and there is no confusion, let's start with this review. I played PS4 DJMAX since June of 2018 and put an absurd amount of hours into it because I loved it. Once I found out it would be getting a port to PC I was incredibly excited. Early Access was a little rough, and the music sync and scoring issues were really bad, but most of that has been fixed now. You can play at 240 fps, which is really nice. Although it's just a port of the old game but with added patterns for keyboard it became even more fun. It's got a great selection of songs I listen to at work or in the car too. After I first showed my friends this game, they all wanted to play it too.

Here are some features of the game that might help your decision in buying it:

Around 175 great songs in the base game (almost 400 if you buy all of the DLC) at the time of writing this.
4 button modes to choose from: 4B, 5B, 6B, and 8B.
Thousands of patterns to play so you never get bored.
A range of difficulties from the super noob to the ultra expert.
Leaderboards if you care about being the best.
Tons of missions with specific requirements to pass.
A collection mode that keeps track of all your stats and includes gallery images of concept art and songs and Music Videos for every song.

THIS GAME GOES ON SALE A LOT! If you are worried about the price tag (which is a lot for a rhythm game), don't worry. The game and all of its DLC usually go on sale during new DLC releases, which is usually 3-4 months. You can expect the price to drop over 50%, which is definitely worth your money. If you really enjoyed the base game I highly recommend the DLC such as V EXTENSION or BLACK SQUARE. Also, I have written a guide here: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2362889860
It describes every unlock, gameplay tips, basic mechanics, and more.

Overall, this game is definitely worth getting once it goes on sale. Of course no game is perfect, but this one is a classic and hopefully becomes even more fun after more songs and DLC are released :)
