Early Access Review
Somehow I can write a review for this game, though I remember only playing it for a few minutes and it is now nowhere to be found in my library. 0/10

The game is terribly ♥♥♥♥♥♥, not even worth playing even if it were free, let alone paying for it. It barely belongs in a pre-alpha development stage, let alone a full release that it seems to be advertised as. The graphics look advanced at first, but are painful to look at for more than a few minutes. What little gameplay I could suffer through was meh, with good potential given any more effort than is currently given. You can't even save the game, despite it having a "start new game" or "continue" option. You have to start over every time you load via "continue," and the game crashes if you press "continue" without having started a game. Overall, this game gets a 0/10 from me, you'd be better off burning your money because at least that releases energy that could be used for something, such as boiling water.

The devs know nothing about boats... this is obvious from the tutorial, where they call the screws outboard motors when they clearly are not, it says to position the starboard side next to the buoy, despite the UI clearly showing that you need to pull up on the port side, the lobster pots are 1950s era bow traps, and the boat is a regular leisure boat with a winch on it. Also, it gives limited information and says to check the wiki for more info, rather than adding an expandable thing with more info.

A fun game that seems boring at first, until you get deeper into the rings and encounter stranger stuff. The graphics ain't much at first glance, but are actually surprisingly detailed, as are the gameplay mechanics. More aimed at teens/adults due to the complexity, and I can't remember if there may be some swears as well... It could probably run on anything, like DOOM. The controls are difficult at first, and manual control is impossible until you learn it and upgrade your ship, but it will allow you to skim the ringroids better than Wash can with Serenity. The financial grind is a slog if you just mine ores, but there are faster ways to get rich. I've played this game for 122 hours and still nowhere near any semblence of an end, so it certainly has replay value. Worth the price, especially since the dev, Koder, goes for a bleeding edge development style, with new experimental branches being released often, as well as weekly or so stable updates that bring bug fixes and some new content as well. Overall, 9/10
