big jet set radio fan here, playing this made it a lot harder to go back to the original, it's that damn good, what're you doing reading this JUST BUY IT ALREADY

i got to justice, died to an instant kill in about 7 seconds. but it has axl so all in all would play again

metal slug's one of the defining run-n-guns in it's genre. ♥♥♥♥'s got beautiful spritework with downright psychotic attention to detail, genuinely can't get tired of seeing how tirelessly flawless this game's art design is. music's great too, can't help but appreciate some good ol neogeo midi sax, and it's also just fun as ♥♥♥♥, was worth spending hours of time going for a deathless playthrough, which felt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. 100% recommend, one of my favourite games ever, along with X and 3.

AXL LOW SUCKS IN THIS GAME BUT IT WONT STOP ME GRAAAAAAAAAAH!!! IM GONNA BE KING OF THE GEARS!!!!!!!!

the most ambitious metal slug by a longshot, it's got gorgeous pixel animation and great music, brimming with new ideas and gameplay elements like having underwater and air levels, branching pathways and secret areas you can find in every level, the only things holding it back are some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difficulty spikes, and the exhausting final level.

i feel like it's a little weaker than the previous entry, but what it does bring to the table is definitely worth playing through, great end to a trilogy of classic games.
