the most ambitious metal slug by a longshot, it's got gorgeous pixel animation and great music, brimming with new ideas and gameplay elements like having underwater and air levels, branching pathways and secret areas you can find in every level, the only things holding it back are some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difficulty spikes, and the exhausting final level.

i feel like it's a little weaker than the previous entry, but what it does bring to the table is definitely worth playing through, great end to a trilogy of classic games.
