I do not use steam to play Dungeon Fighter, but i am a long time player of this game, I played during the beta stages of the game, and i watched it go through many different stages up to its current point.

I know new players don't really read reviews, and i know older players don't need a review of this game to jump back into it. Id like to say that this game has seen better days first and foremost, currently the community is sparce and they have jumped into this strange NEO worldspace that seems to have changed the overall feeling of the game. The classes are updated leaving plenty to be desired from older classes, specifically classes that utilize multi hits. And progress is consistently streamlined just to push you to the highest level with no difficulty no cares and not a whole lot of fun. I feel at this point the game is old enough that older players have their characters but they push newer players through all of the directed content and throw all of the side content on as an optional point of play as it really isn't necessary to touch for most characters and there is no point on getting involved in the economy of the game at this stage. I don't know the state of the games homeland but im sure its a reflection of interest in its home country but I could be wrong.

Its my hope that after watching this game grow, close, grow, close and then grow again that as it takes its next step into different games and different genres it wont forgets its roots. I have not played DNF Duel yet but i plan too. And im sure everyone has seen project overkill or bbq or whatever its next name is. Truthfully i hope that what they have done with dnf duel will be brought back to its orginal arcade style. Rather than moving on to overkill or bbq and removing the retro arcade style the game is known for. I believe the next course of the games development should instead revisit their original game and reinvigorate the arcade style game genre permanently for it. Allow the next wave of mobile and gacha games to take on that 3D landscape, games like Kurtzpel, Genshin, and Tower Of Fantasy should be allowed to rule in their new home. Please do not try to force DNF into a mold that was made for something elses playground and instead bring back a steady community of arcade fighters. If DNF Duel is a precursor to the next arcade style game of DNF becoming DNF 2. Than i believe alot of the old successes can be brought back while incorporating some of the new mechanics as well. Take the best of Dnf's snapshots. From my beta experience id say in terms of features that I personally like. And anyone can and will disagree would be. The Current state of itemization, hunting items as sets, and the raid system, Remove magic sealed items as i believe its a band aid to a system that only needed increased drop rates. The older pvp system before the Arena System. The games where much easier to find and im sure balance can be made by using a more modern system. The Explore club names are of course a helpful addition to carry over as it helps with managing friends and gaining bonuses for using multiple characters. The exploration area i believe is something brought over from Mabinogi which could probably have stayed there in my opinion as is completely skipped over as raids are the main function for end game. It would be nice for the focus of the game to remain in raids, dungeoning, and pvp. By providing rewards for dungeoning and pvping in the way that modern games do with cosmetic items and non cosmetic rewards or currencies to purchase equipment and item sets, im sure DNF could skip things like exploration zones unless they intend to incorporate a full on exploration type of arcade style by utilizing these zones in between cities and having players travel from zone to zone before getting to safe zones. Similar to other Free to play Sidescrollers. But the features are not as important to be re implented as preserving the core arcade style of DNF and incorporating the Art style, of DNF Duel. By re creating the original DNF format out of DNF Duel I believe that DNF will only secure its ability to move on from its current state. Bringing over what it has learned from DNF. And overall creating a better experience and a fresh start for anyone who has enjoyed the game over the years.

That being said. In its current stage. The game is still fun. Fatigue runs out about as quickly as you level. But its great nostalgia for anyone who has already played, and a nice time waster for those who can bring a group along to run few dungeons with. There is much less harshness to the game as there used to be. But enjoying the game as it is now im sure id play it for just as long. Absolutely give this game a try and keep a lookout for its future.
