I really think they should have waited to release this, I know it's early access, but there is really nothing in this game worth the 25$ I paid. I was expecting more. Once it's developed more though, I think that it will be great, but currently at the state of this game, I can't recommend. With the few things here, I feel like this is more of a demo that should've been free.

As much as I like this game so far, I can't reccomend it. Once i got to the beat lili plot, and beat her on the leaderboard, it doesnt register, so I'm unable to go foreward in the game. hopefully this gets fixed.

Immersive story, beautiful graphics and the only game I've cried over loosing a character before.
Love all the little easter eggs too.
10/10. Even if it makes me emotional and I now have a save game where I refuse to play past chapter 6........

I've been playing this game for years, I bought it originally through the website the day it came out. I recently got it on steam for the cloud saves and achievements. I think for a new player the interface and all the options can potentially be a bit overwhelming.

Being able to watch race replays is great, and I enjoy being able to take the reins in jockey mode.

I highly recommend the visual mods for horse portraits by SiriusChill, as well as the increment bars, it's makes the stat bars easier to read.

I quite enjoy the strategy, especially with realistic battle mod. I wish they would allow you to download mods through steam though.

I love the creative freedom in this game! The animals are also a bonus.

This is one of my go-to games, I've spent so many hours exploring the beautiful landscapes and getting to know the different personalities of the pups. Despite doing the same things through the life of a wolf, claiming territory, having pups, hunting and lounging around and watching pups grow, it never seems to get old. Having so many things that can happen and put a sudden end to your wolf, or your wolf's mate, or a pup, or multiple pups, and having the npc wolves have different personalities that you can observe and learn about really makes each year in the wolf's life a bit different. Having different strengths and weaknesses also seems to change up the play style for each wolf.

Edit : With the new optimization update, I decided to pull out my older gaming laptop to see (an older gtx1650ti and i5) and i'm able to play this on a mix of mid and high settings with good frame rate, roughly between 30fps and 50fps. Putting the shadow quality down and then plant variety to medium makes the game still look amazing, but run a lot smoother on some lower end gpus.

Also the new randomize wolf feature is great!

I bought this game a while ago. I spent a little bit of time when I first installed it trying to login to servers. I couldn't seem to login to any server or create and play on my own server.
I uninstalled the game.
Just last week I decided to try it up again and I have an issue now with being able to play on any of the servers. It will login now but then it will kick me off saying please login again. On servers in game as well as servers I create. I've spent 45 minutes in the game and none of it was even playing the game.
This happens on both my gaming desktop as well as laptop.
So, I'm really not sure the game play is any good but I don't recommend this game because I can't even seem to get to the game play at all.
If I'm able to get into the game and be able to play it, then my review may change.
