Do women get intimidated by good looking guys in general?

I’ve been told by several women I’m intimidating just because they found me out of their league. I was also told the sweet spot for a guy’s appearance is somehow above average, but not too attractive.

That’s not to say I’ve been unsuccessful in the dating scene. There are women who make moves on me, but I assume they just want to date someone attractive and don’t mind anything else.
