Before the actual review starts I would like to mention that I am only writing based on personal experiences so you may not agree based on your own circumstances. I don't recommend this not because Dota 2 is a bad game but because it is not something you can just start playing. All MOBAs have a learning curve to understand mechanics that are a core part of the game and that is fine. Dota does this with the new tutorial that they added many moons ago so that new players can maybe do something during a game. In fairness to the tutorial, it does tell you some useful stuff like pulling creeps and stacking camps which are some advanced strategies(?). However, in the hours that I have played this I still feel like a child when I walk around the lane while my friends that like this game much more than me say that the best thing to do is this or that. Dota is a commitment and a big one at that. If you want to get into this game you need to do your research. Lets say you do and you want to find out who you want to play. Dota doesn't really have starter roles apparently, what I mean is that there isn't a great starter way to play. You might think support is better than carry just because you aren't the one carrying the game but now you're responsible for making sure the wards are up and everyone has vision and that the people that are playing carry are benefiting from your support. Dota 2 isn't like any other games of its genre due to the sheer amount of strategy that you goes into each game and even before the game since both sides alternate picking heroes and both sides can see what heroes have been chosen so if you pick too early then the other team might just pick a hard counter to you. I guess what I'm trying to say in this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ review is that I don't like Dota because of the time I have to put into learning the game before I even start playing it. I don't like going into a game and having to be told what to do the entire time because of my inexperience and I don't like it more when I need to keep having to do it for multiple games. Anyways, take this however you want I just want to let other new players know what they might be getting into. I could just be a big idiot and am bad at the game and don't know what I'm talking about but this isn't untrue. Also Dota doesn't have a surrender feature so if your game is going bad then have fun for the next 20-30 minutes.
