If The Witness and AER had a child.... Islands of Insight merges the puzzles and world of the Witness with the lore and movement of AER. I have only played this online so far, and no issues experienced :)

Pixels, puzzles, and point & click vibes - its a game / choose your own adventure style novel. I really enjoyed it - I enjoyed the conversations with the AI and sim characters, the quests, choosing a path and experiencing the story unfold. I've had one play through and may play again for some different endings eventually. The only thing I'd change is to be able to pick up the story from different save points, which would make replaying the game much more of an enticing prospect

A new favourite game - loved the lore and exploration - there are actually things to see and more lore to discover on most of the islands you visit, even those islands not substantive to the story. I played half the game with keyboard/mouse combo, the second half with a controller - both possible :) I also used a guide for the missable achievements, but I recommend playing around without the guides first for a fun experience :)

So many different reviews for this game! For my take, I really like the world-building and narrative created by this developer - I find the story line interesting, and looking forward to playing a third instalment (if one becomes available). The puzzles are a little opaque at first, but can be skipped if you find they detract from the story. There is replay value - I'll be playing a second time to see how some of the choices change the story.

Fun, short post-apocalyptic sci-fi walking sim / puzzle / point and click - its a great mix of some of my favourite genres :) Yes the controls are a little janky at times and he walks slowly, but the story build is interesting and there is a full basket of Easter eggs to spot :) I played through a couple of times for the achievements.

I really enjoyed playing this fever dream of a hidden object game - I loved the vibrant colours and puzzles. It felt like two different games at times - as stated by other reviewers, the cut scenes felt out of place from the rest of the game, but were so minor that you didn't need to pay them much attention. Unlike other reviewers, all the achievements unlocked, so perhaps it was just the demo that didn't?

A gem of a game - the developers have created a unique experience and creative way of sharing a moving story.

A game for those who love classic point and click games and with a certain sense of humour. For the achievement hunters - I needed to use a walkthrough achievement guide for the mini-games where getting the sequencing right the first time matters, and I used the Daedalic website guidance to unlock the droggeljug achievement (rather than playing through a full third time in that language - life's too short!)

Thumbs up for point and click fans, if you aren't, then the style of game and humour might not be for you. Definitely re-playable, which is good, because unlike other reviewers, I did miss quite a few achievements the first play through! I played some scenes more than twice, finally with a walk through guide to get the achievements I missed the first few times :)
