This game has probably the best Gun play I've ever felt. And is one of my favourite games.
However, I do regret to say that *Recently (from 2021 to now) This top 3 game of mine has Given me horrible trust issues.

The good: Gun play is amazing, and the build crafting that is possible has so much depth to the point that you can pretty much make whatever build you can think of as long as you spend some time to figure it out.
any friendship groups consisting of 3-6 players can easily turn this into an ongoing group game to play.
Going into raids Blindly without knowing mechanics as a full team is VERY fun and feels rewarding, figuring out mechanics and thinking in your toes feels great.
PvP when certain guns/Character abilities have been balanced properly is very fun

The neutral: the balancing of the game's sandbox can feel bad/unnecessary sometimes - Whether this be in PvP where some abilities/guns make the playspace unenjoyable or in PvE where maybe your favourite gun/gun archetypes have been nerfed and don't feel as fun to use anymore, somewhat forcing you to move away from a play style or loadout that you had invested in to and were comfortable with.
New players will find the game direction very disjointed. Seasonal content may not make sense in terms of lore and story telling. The game will constantly advertise via almost full screen Banners to buy DLC or a current Season pass once you reach the limit of content available to a F2P player in certain activities - Do not worry about this affecting you mid-game as it will only happen when you try to select an activity locked behind said paywalls.
Another new player thing I've noticed is that when they do decide to buy something, it can be VERY confusing to know WHAT you're supposed to buy in terms of DLC.

The Bad: This is where the trust issues stem from in my experience. Bungie Introduced the destiny content vault as they said the game was becoming too big to sustainably upkeep, This meant that existing Content up to a point, including PAID for content would be removed from the game and put into this Content vault. I believe they also said they would do this annually to take out lesser played activities/older aged content. This removed things such as: PvP Maps, Raids, Strikes, Secret missions, and other various activities. This may be an immediate turn off for new or returning players as one day the content you PAID for may not be playable again in the future.

Seasonal activities are Available for the full year following the release of the latest DLC, this should be a good thing, right?
Well, unfortunately there is a downside to this. If for example you returned or started destiny today, we are currently in I believe the second season of the content year. If you buy the current season pass you can play the current activities introduced with this season however you are unable to play the activities tied to the last one. The ONLY way to get access to the previous seasons content is to buy the Annual pass for the most recent DLC, Giving you access to the entire years worth of seasons in advance as a big bundle, including the most recent DLC. This is a gigantic price tag for people who only wanted access to specific past content, but have to buy the largest available bundle in order to play it.

New Dungeons used to be tied into the season they came out in, where buying the current season gave you access to the dungeon, this is no longer true with the introduction of dungeon keys. Now when a new dungeon is released, getting the season does not grant you access to it, you now have to buy at least 2,000 Silver in order to get the key to be able to access it, this Key purchase is also ONLY obtainable with the in-game Silver currency, and not directly with a steam transaction, meaning you're forced to buy a silver bundle that comes with 2,300 and now have 300 silver that you can't do anything with.

Note: Buying the most recent DLC will give you access to the Currently ongoing season without having to pay for it separately.

TL;DR
The game feels fantastic and is fun to play, However Free to Play is in this situation not entirely true - it is more like a free Trial. New players can feel overwhelmed and confused with what they can and can't do without buying DLC, and it is not clear as to what add-ons include if you do not understand the content listings within it.
There is a content vault that has been introduced, meaning that currently available content/activities may be vaulted/removed from the game in the future, making the content you PAID for unavailable to you.
I will leave the review as recommended as the game itself is great, but I HIGHLY suggest to keep note of the above things if you consider playing this game.

For it's release date the Graphics in the game are absolutely stunning! I love the general atmosphere of the game and it's really good to come to when I want to have a break from something and just chill out. Definitely recommended in my early hours.
