Beautiful storytelling and environments, which are complemented by the enhanced lighting, water, ragdolls and particles of the Source engine.
While there are benefits of the Source engine, there are more bugs to accompany it due to Valve not keeping this game up to date. There is a notable issue later in the game that causes graphics to bug causing the entire room to look like walls of stray polygons. Luckily though, there are plenty of community made patches available online.
I wouldn't say this is the definitive way to play, but it is surely a pretty smooth and immersive experience and I recommend this to those who have already played the GoldSRC original.

A beautifully abstract and environmentally realistic game with the most deep and unique experiences that I don't believe any game can match it's beauty. You may hear this in every review but this game is ahead of it's friggin' time.

The time when tinyBUILD and Dynamic Pixels were just starting to shift into the abstract-cartoony art style. I enjoy this build of the game.

Personally, I prefer this version of Hello Neighbour over any other version. I enjoy the semi-realistic Disney animated film inspired art style as oppose to the new jutted or angular style.

I have a bit of experience with the Plants Vs. Zombies franchise, as I had played it a lot when I was younger. I still highly recommend this game series to anybody who enjoys games like Bloons Tower Defense and can enjoy a nice challenge! I love the goofy art style and early 2000s humor.

Addons aren't even necessary to have an insanely good time playing. From making your own house out of Combine shield material, to attaching a ragdoll to your buggy, there is always fun to be had in this Source engine masterpiece. I'd recommend this game to anyone who is familiar with the Half-Life franchise, or anyone who just really enjoys a realistic but dopey sandbox style game! Money well spent!
