Halo Infinite is monumental. 343 did Bungie and all us fans damn proud with this one.
Primarily Ill speak about the single player, which for me is where the real meat of any Halo game is.
Infinites campaign sees players take on the role of The Master Chief once more. Filling those shoes has never been more nostalgic and fresh at the same time. Right from Infinite's opening moments the sense of gravity and cinematic awe is layered on heavily. As if we never left the Chiefs side, we are thrown straight back into his world. The events of Halo 5 behind us, its quickly established that the new threat are that of the Banished. Infinite is a gorgeous looking game, with sequences and gameplay that are just stunning to enjoy. Its characters are exciting and badass. It knows exactly when to hit you with nostalgic Halo familiar elements and when to introduce new ones to fantastic effect. The first game in the franchise to feature a open world setting. Infinite allows players to traverse Zeta Halo with optional side quests and goals along with the chapter driven story. The gunplay is satisfying and smooth as ever and the addition of a grapple shot for Chief opens up so much more fluid traversal. Not only that but the grapple enables the player some slick weapon and explosives grabs that truly make you feel the power and fighting capability of the most legendary of Spartans. The exploration is rewarding with collectables and side quests a plenty. Multiplayer delivers all the usual classics of a Halo game. Slayer, oddball etc and continues with exciting seasonal weapon, armour flares and updates.
There really isn't a thing I don't love, no adore about this game.
