This game, similar to many RTS games, is all about snowballing.
I did play league of legends before this but the learning curve was still there, the real litmus test in this game is itemization and farm priority, once you understand that you "learned" the game.

Because of how long the game has existed, and how the rules were shaped in it's history, an emergent meta-ruleset came from it. In a good team each player gets different roles depending on his hero and build, these roles don't mean anything except "farm priority", that is, it's how much priority you should give to buying items and leveling up rather than fighting the enemy directly.

Because of the nature of the game, resources are limited in the sense that you must sacrifice potential EXP and gold to certain teammates. Typically, a team will have one carry that is (hopefully) extremely strong because his hero has reached it's snowball after farming for most of the game.

The goal of the game is still ultimately to destroy their "ancient", but the mechanisms you must exploit to actually be close to reaching that goal are a game in of itself.

If you do actually play this, be aware of the community. This isn't a toxic community like CSGO or rocket league or something, its worse; people cry all the time, assume everyone is a fragile autistic 7 year old kid and you should be fine.
If someone is being toxic don't be toxic back, the game has a pretty strong system of behaviour scores where every time you say something triggering to someone you are more likely to encounter human ♥♥♥♥ in your games.

Also if you are a new player learn the laning basics and how to not grief, the farming priority stuff is pretty important and try not to play a core/high farming priority.


Anyways, very addicting game, the sound design and graphics are great as always with valve.

build things that prevent others from getting to the top, but help you
race to the top with the things everyone added

Thats whats so great about this game, they didn't even need to program procedural generation, the players do it for them.

This game holds a powerful force, the force to awaken people from their ignorance to this unequal injust system we live in.

This game, it saved me.
I was going to commit suicide, but then that guitar riff, in the DLC. It changed the way I see the world, the world is not just surfing, its exploring.

Oh my god, i dont think ive liked a f2p unity game so much.
This is badly optimised, bad graphics, bad gunplay.
