For me, the Far Cry saga was characterized by each of its memorable and entertaining stories. Or so it was until the release of Far Cry 5. Far Cry 5 lacks an enjoyable story like its predecessors had. The idea for the main plot is actually very intriguing and handles a very sensible topic: The power of religion. But when it comes to how it was executed, the game offers an empty and generical gameplay along with missions that forces you to go from one point to another and establishing dominance over certain areas. My problem with this is not that I’ve faced this before, is that Far Cry 5 makes it repetitive. Far Cry 4 features the same system as well, but more vast and even better. Thus, at many points in my run, I felt nothing but emptiness and repeatability. Yes, perhaps its graphics are good, but not enough to fill the gap left by its invariability. Overall, the game itself is good, but compared to other Far Cry games, this one feels like a kick in the nuts.

I recommend buying it only when it’s on sale.

Update: Still bad, controller compatibility is trash, and this happens a lot with many other ubisoft games. Worst of all is the launcher and the bad connection to it.
