loaded into the desert, walked about 30ft and became a slave. tried to escape, got arm chopped off, died from bleeding out.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GAME. its very very rare that i play a game and feel so smitten. I almost instantly fell in love. Being that I have played all 3 souls games and bloodborne I felt at home. The story is amazing in my opinion, the character development was perfect and well paced, and the whole game felt very fair. At some points it did jump in difficulty, but it felt natural. The game does a very good job of teaching you without holding your hand in a way that the SoulsBorne series seems to be unable to do. Highly recommend if you love a challenge.

also a major plus is the Co-op feels very nice and actually works very well.

This is a game I was looking forward to when it was announced. I went into it with a TON of cautious optimism, and unfortunately got burned fairly bad by the state it was in at launch, but continued to play for quite some time after, because i felt like it would get better. it did and didnt. for a very long time this game was a mixed bag, where it fell short it really really fell, but where it shined it really shone bright. its always been a game thats best with friends or in a group setting, even though i have played the majority of it solo (which is more than doable). all of the jank and bugginess aside there is a community here that makes the game worth it, there are people who have played damn near everyday, im sure feeling the way i did/do about how things can or could go. Wastelanders feels like a sort of love-letter to fans and is definitely a step in the right direction. a major improvement, in my opinion.
BUT, the only thing i think needs to be worked on as far as wastelanders itself is the way questing works. there is no reason to have to SOLO any part of this game as its, you know, a multiplayer game. why should my team and i have to enter a quest area separately to do the same task? that is beyond me. aside from that i think the game is headed in the right direction. Wastelanders has done a great job of making the game feel like fallout again, but there are still going to be things within it that hold it back slightly from the other games in the franchise.
as far a recommendation, i would say wait for a sale or some sort of major update (at least to questing ) especially if you plan to play with friends. and if you do get back into it dont go in thinking everything is now magically fixed. go in with all bias aside and enjoy the game for what it is and not what it was.

TL;DR Wastelanders is an improvement, game still kinda janky BUT better. the new quests are quite bothersome as you have to do some things by yourself even in a group. overall 7/10 would recommend on sale
