At it's worst Destiny 2 has a nonexistent player on-boarding experience. It's free to try, the developers love to patch resource bugs and Eververse, the in-game store, within hours but leave bugs that effect the QOL of players to rot. The game preys on it's veterans through Destiny 1 nostalgia-bait, has a poor endgame experience. While Destiny 2's parent company, Bungie, employs scummy firing processes. The game has unreliable servers, employs predatory micro-transactions, has nonexistent PVP support, dead game modes (Gambit), & a horrendous RNG system. Money from the game is leeched by Bungie and is used to fund other company projects while little to none is invested back into the product. The parent company blows through funds and leaves little to show for it. Content is removed just to be repackaged in later DLC's/Seasons and sold back to the customer. The game has a stagnant Seasonal/Episode model, watered down weapons, & improperly addressed power creep. Not to mention the silver and the in-game cosmetic/transmog system. At it's best Destiny 2 has in depth lore, complex characters, in-game storytelling could be better but it gets the job done. Interesting class and ability disparity, masterfully crafted worlds, great missions, great raids, complex enemies, & unique exotics. When it comes down to it Destiny 2 is a drug designed to keep players coming back and extract as much money from them as possible. Destiny 2 keeps its players on a conveyor, drip feeding content and making empty promises until you get to the next major DLC release where you will cough up your yearly expense and be stuck back on the conveyor once again. What else can I say I've played this game series on and off for 10 years, played more than 3500+ hours, and I can safely say I don't regret one moment of it. I grew up with this game and I will surely die with it. Can I recommend it to someone else? Not a chance.
