10 years later and still nothing comes close to Paris' design. Too bad Ubisoft decided to abandon this path for AC

Early Access Review
Palworld is how I imagined the world of Pokemon work as a child. It has surprisingly deep gameplay with great variety in scenery and biomes.

I had low expectation for the game when I first saw the trailer but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is a gem, although a rough one.

Combat pales in comparison to the magnum opus that is Sekiro. However, this is arguably Fromsoft's most well rounded game. Highly recommended.

Just uh, we don't talk about Canada zone and the areas after that ok.

NieR:Automata has been an incredible experience. It gives me hope by making me go through despair.

All the hallmarks of a PlatinumGames' production is there. And so is the presence of a phenomenal soundtrack expected from a Square Enix title. What impressed me the most though, is the story and how it unfolds.

The game uses a fairly common trope: you a trapped in an endless cycle, perpetuated by lies. Your choices. Your actions. Your death. Your life. They don't matter and you are but a mere disposable pawn in the grander scheme. I'm not unfamiliar with such concept as one of my favorite series (Dark Souls) has the exact same idea.

What makes NieR different though, is the little things around you. In Dark Souls, I entered a loner and left a loner. I have nothing to lose. Therefore, nothing to fear. But NieR gives me something to treasure: my partners, my handlers, my team. It gives me something to bond with, to love and protect. Something that is my guiding light. And then it took them away before telling me the truth about the world. That hurts. So badly.

Throughout the journeys of the 3 characters, I got to experience their inner conflicts, be it a fight between duty and love, a descend into madness or the act of redemption. And most of all, their struggle to find a purpose in life. At first I thought the message for me was "This world is cruel. And nothing matters", that the game was all about despair and sadness. But fought hard enough, and I realised that was only half of the message. NieR:Automata is not a game about the cruel world, it is about finding hope it such existence.

The REAL ending is out of this world. The game will always give you a tragic end. Unless you reject it, and symbolically destroy the entire developer team behind the game. You can then break the cycle and forge your own future.

In a way, NieR:Automata is both a depressing and an uplifting experience.
"They are perpetually trapped in a never-ending spiral of life and death. However, life is all about the struggle within this cycle"

Thank you Yoko Taro, games are not silly little things.
