A good friend needs three things: Time (specifically, making time for you and trying to become closer with you), trust (a willingness to speak openly with you and talk about sensitive topics you or they wouldn't share with just anyone, and as part of that remembering events in each other's lives and checking up on those things with that person later on), and teamwork (a skill that will enable you and your friend to build off of each other and benefit by spending time together, making each other better people in the process).
