I got this game on sale for $5. It's currently the best Assassin's Creed like game on the market with anything resembling a playerbase.

If that kind of game is what you're looking for, it's the best thing available, and it's not good enough.

This game does a few things right, and a few things just drastically wrong.

If you want the feeling of paranoid cat/mouse gameplay, you won't find it here. They tell you when you have line of sight of your pursuers, which means with some basic observational skills it's child's play to determine who is hunting you. With the defensive abilities you can use it often becomes more effective to farm stuns off your pursuer than to go hunt your target.

If you want the feeling of stalking your target, you might find it but it won't be fulfilling. Unlike Assassin's Creed, this game does *not* tell you what your target looks like. This would be an interesting decision if it weren't for the aforementioned ability to tell who your pursuer is easily. Once you know who you're hunting, they almost certainly know who you are, leading to a Mexican stand off where you both try to bait each other into traps until someone slips and dies.

The map design itself isn't bad, but there's a consistent mechanic that seems out of place: The guard.

If a guard is watching and you draw your weapon (Even to stun your pursuer) the guard will arrest you, broadcasting your location to your hunters and target. The guard will then stop watching for a bit. This serves no purpose other than to slow the game down.

One ability, pie bomb, fundamentally breaks the cat/mouse gameplay. Pie bombs are land mines that exist for 45 seconds (with 1 minute cooldown starting when you place it down) and explode if your target or hunters walk near them. If your hunters walk near them, it's an automatic stun, netting you 3 easy points. If your target walks into it, it kills them for about 10 points. It's frankly just ridiculous, and the counterplay is very limited.

This game is the best game available for what it is, but it falls short of what it needs to be. Because of that, I cannot recommend this game.
