Bullet Train: The Magnum Opus of Film
Bullet Train. What a crazy and original title. Before I dive any deeper into the plot and perfect execution of a frivolous and delightful film I want each and every one of you to ponder on what Bullet Train means to you. For me it invokes a feeling of speed and urgency, while also being a place in which one can interact with the common folk. For another person it may invoke violent thoughts of people shooting guns on private transportation. Or for the especially crude person it could just bring to mind the idea of a real life Bullet Train. The name Bullet Train discriminates against none of these views, and instead takes a holistic viewpoint that could include everybody's train of thought. No matter how crude. This brilliant naming convention is just the tip of the iceberg for what will be known as the magnum opus of filmmaking.

The Characters
Lets start by talking about the characters, from the Wolf, to the Hornet, to Ladybug, to Lemon each character brings a unique flair that truly makes Bullet Train one of the most unique and fun pieces of media that I have ever seen. Through the characters we are given a fun and interwoven story that by its conclusion will have everyone laughing on the edge of their seats. Let us start with the main character first, Ladybug.

Ladybug:
Played by funnyman Brad Pitt, he is introduced as a perpetual figure piece of what he perceives as bad luck as those around him end up in precarious situations. However, Ladybug will use the advice of his therapist Barry to get through the trials and tribulations thrown at him. Ladybug is a hitman for hire who only does snatch and grab jobs as he does not want to deal with all of the pain that he causes. His luck sure does get him into some wacky situations though! Immediately one can see the inventory of items that he brings aboard the train include fireworks, narcotics, a knife, and notably absent, a gun. He ends up reflecting a knife into the Wolfs chest, a venom into the hornet, releases a boomslang, gets the antivenom to boomslang venom, and while train crashes he falls safely into the hands of a MOMOMO. (Japanese Anime Garbage). And the ultimate reveal is that he accidentally filled in for Carver who was meant to be the target of the harassment received by Ladybug. Ladybug also has a ton of memorable quotes such as, “The Hand who points a finger in blame has 4 pointing back at him, oh wait I guess 3?” and, “There is a wall between us, we need to open a window or wait a door?” Overall the funny ladybug works as the perfect protagonist as he is a backboard for the dynamics of the rest of the cast.
