Under Night In-Birth 2 perfectly honors what the first revisions achieved with the depth in its gameplay, the freedom it grants in player expression thanks to being able to chain normals in whatever order you want if it hasn't been used before in the same combo and multiple cancel routes, now in rollback netcode with new characters and 3 more to string along the way (The season pass is free if you take the game before March !) and packaged with more features than ever before to help you get better, like being able to take control of your character in replays and the previous iterations' very complete tutorial and mission mode.

In other words, if you want a fighting game that's gonna last and that could blind you with the sheer armount of content it offers you in it's deep combat, go for it !

Funded 10 bucks to the game's crowdfunding campaign and bought it for my PS3 back in 2013 , an update removed the russian announcer that was one of the fundraiser's goal yesterday without any replacement.

The update also removed story mode illustration and some drawings from the Artbook without any warning prior, and that to me is downright unacceptable.


Overall, turns out that whatever the reasoning is for all these changes are, i don't like creative content being taken from a game i paid for and funded from my pocket, i don't know who Autumn Games is catering that kind of update to, but it's clearly not to me nor all the fans and artists that made the game possible years ago. They won't be getting my support anymore and they shouldn't have yours either, except if you want a game that will lose content, cutscenes, character traits, backstories and polish as time goes on, depending on whatever [current year] finds outrageous next.

Been waiting for this one for a while as a jojo fan and fighing game player, here we go !

I'd really just say i reccommend the game for one aspect but never the other. Really. Having played the PS3 title i know what i was in for, really cool nods to keys scenes in the manga, great interactions, it's JoJo like you've always loved it, 10/10 on that aspect, and the little bits that R added are very welcome.

Now as a fighting game... Seat yourself for horrible netcode and the most barebone training mode you've ever seen.

We've known this since before the release, it's just like its expected. I'm in europe, played against another european and a japanese player just now, the game said the EU player's connection indicator was good and the japanese's was bad, both were absolutely unplayable. I'm talking +30f of delay wjth my inputs unplayable here if i had to guess.

Rest of the online session was hit or miss, sometimes i'd get okay connection, most of the time not so much.

Training mode ? You can set whether you spawn to the right, left, center, you can make the P2 a CPU, and oh, you can record and play stuff now !..

That's basically it, and holy crap is that dissapointing if you're competitively interested in the game. I first hopped in in training mode to test something with my char that he only had at low health, guess i can't in training since health regenerates itself and i can't change that. This isn't acceptable for a fighting game in 2022


Conclusion; Buy this game if you like JoJo ! You wants something that really shows love for the manga and anime, and you're looking to play the game locally with a friend or group.

Do not buy this game if you wanna invest yourself in a fighting game. Save yourself the headache, and hope CC2 puts some water in their wine someday, cuz the gameplay is actually decent.
