Futaba is so BEST GIRL it's not even funny. It's not even close. Ann had probably the most memorable villain besides and can be a bro. But she's irrelevant after all that. Makoto has the most bad-ass persona but as a character she was just meh. Her confidant scenes weren't that good and 98% of the time she has the personality of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rock . Haru is a sweet kid but let's be honest she's not even worth comparing.

Futaba's mom was killed and she was blamed by adults for it, then she was passed around her relatives, one didn't even feed her or let her sleep on a bed or bathe (what the ♥♥♥♥). She is hurt by the way people treat Sojiro, and she even starts hallucinating. With all this you would think she would be a goth wrist cutter instead of a bright, goofy playful kid. Instead, she blackmailed the Phantom Thieves and would actually go through with it if you fail (dont remember if Makoto did too). She's the one that took action and got the thieves to help her, then her inner self is what led to her realization. She's the only one without the typical bloody mask awakening (not including pancake boy), only party member who went in her own palace, only one to have an entire arc dedicated to her and her psyche (no human villain or other stuff). Her character not only had the best build up, her story kept going all the way to Shido when her mom was finally avenged.

She has the most development too, she couldn't even leave her room at first/hid from people/would wear masks. By the end she was fooling a detective with her words (installing an app on his phone right when he's near her), going out on her own, called Sojiro dad, protecting and getting her old friend back, etc. She's strong when she's serious but still kinda childish.

Also, something interesting: In Sojira's social link you go to a church and he talks about how Futaba will be a good bride someday. And in the last group session, if you choose "marriage", Futaba blushes while none of the other girls have a reaction. Even though the game "ships" Joker with Makoto in 2 scenes, I still think the subtleties with Futaba were way better and less forced. Her scenes were charming and fun, I didn't feel that way in any other girl's scenes, and I maxed all of them out too. She is the best written girl in the party in my opinion and the most fun too. The only thing I don't like about her is her codename and persona designs. Oracle? A rainbow smily face? But yeah despite those minor things FUTABA IS BEST PERSONA 5 GIRL. Even Sojiro himself would say so. And you don't argue with Sojiro.
