Fun, I wish there was an auto harvest after the resources were done with production. Having to monitor it after my dwellers are armed and loaded for bear is tedious, but other than that, it captures the essence of vault life well. Great ant-farm.

Early Access Review
Reba, needs an update to her story and I need to beat her brother an thwart my own assassination. An anal scene with my upset MILF is so wanted. The alt world needs a barbarian warrior persona of the crippled doctor who is an amazing athlete, (but no body changes unless it's a tad larger bossum) and helpful in that 'retrograde perpetual Iron Age'. lol Gay and trans friends you can like but who back off when asked are cool. Make me able to pay Adrian back somehow for her solid on the laptop. Maybe hook her up with, Ben or the skater guy. The political commentary not being too harsh but accurate to the times is cool. Wasn't thrilled that trailer trash are the only liberal opposition. The conversation about God with a certain character that ended in her being chill no matter the reply was excellent and is the proper attitude always. Wanted to help Auntie with the kids in some way. Pretty good, but didn't like the ass-whippings before I even knew I could train MMA! lol Great work, bring back my in-house MILF!! Also, even the old coffee holding honey at the diner needs to be on my menu! Rrrrr Realizing his father might be searching for his mother in an new reality, I'm serious, a perpetual retrograde world without modernity in which they are trapped is an awesome look. Potential Adrian the evil twink prince for my bi friends, and lots of refits for the other cast. Like if the shy Korean woman is a vicious bountywoman hunting the player. There's money in that concept.

Should make an effort to set up a breakup event with Summer, where blowing her off for someone else causes a reaction. Love the body types, but more variance is good. Too much conversation though, and smug quips from the narrator. The forced fail with the Latina milf was stupid too, you can sweet talk most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so she is wrong and only had a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ writer as her big clue. Yes, I knew it was stupid the next play through you smart ass. I thought the pick-a-path would generate a different outcome not your dumb-ass mouth, and needs more optional types of sex, not your opinion on how these women get banged. Customization is king, jackass. On behalf of the fans you triggered who still like the game in spite of a bratty dev.

The graphics leap from Rome 2 to this was too far too soon. Likewise, with the Warhammer series. If you are among the few who can buy high end, I'm sure it was a great experience. For the rest of the fans in the market, this was a big letdown. The previous titles didn't seem to cater to or pander to the well-off, and on top of a system requirement the mod ability and patches destroying mod efforts are something less forgivable. The limit in scope to what they want us to be able to experience in all the recent titles, coupled with the feminine experience we were forced to partake in is another rating killer. In this title, the AI focuses on player killing and player frustration. Loyal men become corrupted bastards far to easily and regularly. Nothing worse than having a sprawling kingdom at 36 then having to reclaim its rebellious lands at 45, only to face a third reconquest at 68 with an heir only 15 to takeover the failure. While the computer factions seem entirely able to hunt you, while holding a sprawling land area with no troubles. Stupidity needs a filter in the focus groups. It needs to also understand I like the obscure Goidel clans in Scotland more than any other faction or culture on the map, and would certainly play them if allowed by developers to do so. In fact, stupid to even have anything on the map in a game, I can't assume total control of and play. You all know the first mod will be to make that so. Anyway, if you like putting pointless effort into an era where politico nerds decided Christian lords were just as disjointed morally and spiritually as the pagan menace, this is your cults game. Regular folk who have a laptop and pay rent will just be mad after the tenth revolt.

It's got world accuracy, some surprises, a WoW toonyness, makes you feel like a part of the greater epic, has some strange ownership abilities, is too focused on payment for advancement, the art and screenshots are deceptive, in that you wont have fantastic looking gear or a horse for many levels. You can get a horse early if you really pursue it. The merchants are too expensive, the gear you will be able to afford without payment will be weak, you will begin to feel stronger at lvl 24, but its hard to get there without paying. Payments without a limit on funds means this game would be fun, shame its like a donation to the Tolkien Society Ball. Grinders who like the world will be happy and enjoy the setting, but will be frustrated if they have limited funds. Sad but true, rather than just have cosmetic sales they have boosters, and that's cheat fundamentals. Why do they always have to ruin equal standing?

Yeah, get it if you are new to it, its a novel way to make a game, and fun to play through, it takes a while to learn how to be a party to the culture and the music is the best thing about it.

As a veteran since I had to buy my copy from the obscure website back in 99, its not the same, and upsetting.

Things I Miss A Lot:

1) Saving the game manually before hard quests or uncontrollable game events, like major wars, or king election.
2) Boundary map showing your clan territory from the start and as you capture turf from rivals.
3) The fantastically done village 2D graphic page, showing what shrines, fortifications, tree growth, patrols, and buildings at a glance.
4) The patrol settings for inner and outer patrols, that was important to warfare, so you could take only the outer patrol out on raids and leave some behind for cattle thieves, having to set the patrols if you took too many was a great way to insure you didn't take too many weaponthanes away from their duty.
5) The ability to slaughter pigs and sheep for meat in a food crisis. I don't know if its a feature I need to build a building to get or discover a god mystery to unlock it, but it was a big part of how you could dominate the game in the original CD versions.

The thing I hate the most:

The fact you can't save before the quests and big events. The dev's took the best features and shelved them, while retaining the most frustrating aspects of the randomized system as if it was the source of all fun to fail inexplicably over, and over, and over....

Your saga used to look like a history that you'd be proud to show the net with the odd big battle loss you might have ate simply to add realism to reader enjoyment. Now, you're best play through looks like constant abysmal failure peppered with victory no matter how seasoned a Gloranthan you are.

Final Thoughts:

In spite of that, I'm playing the heck out of it, but please take the omissions into patch consideration, it was perfect the way it was on release in the late 90's, and I like the new character additions and additional story lines, but the new accompaniment scene and dream art is too different (well done and lovely but too different a style) also.

Didn't care for the "Factions" version because it's customization was low and the advancement was all pay to own. Thought it was going to be a sort of freestyle, less restricted by a gripping but already set story path. I wanted to own a village and be a Chieftain of an all human settlement and actually have my own faction. Instead it was basically a chess game of painfully repetitive combat with the same pieces over and over. That said, this original game is perfect. Combat is great, giving tactical ability a big push in each fight that sees you thinking each move through to victory and I only lost a few battles in 10 hours of noob play. The frustration was simply in the death of a beloved fighter I had nurtured into a capable warrior in a betrayal that saw him murdered without a chance to defend against it. I want to restart now just to see if I can make them survive. It gives you a wonderful pick-a-path book type adventure that any 80's-90's child is bound to love, but might simply be caught up in an oblivious limbo of questioning for players spoiled by more recent titles. If you are a fan of King of Dragon Pass or Tales of the Rainbow Dragon, you are in for a treat. Lovers of the Hobbit animated film from the 80's will respect and admire the art direction, and for the simplicity of what the game is, it manages to knock it out of the park. If you pay full price don't feel bad, this one is a classic in the making and worth whatever you paid.

Okay, so I thought I was going to get to create a "faction" in the Banner Saga universe. I didn't realize the is one faction, and everybody is in it fighting over and for absolutely nothing, and with no point to any of it, in a few of the same painfully restrictive arena fields. I thought I was joining a questing and strategy game like a D&D or and RTS game. The art is the only plus, the rest of the concept is pretty lame. The units should vary and you should be traveling on a map from location to location with your custom "Factions" making a homeland or something like a goal. It also shamelessly markets advancement in that, how stupid way that makes games pointless to care about or play. What they are asking money for is limited almost to a point of being a total joke, and nothing you can do early feels like you will get to earn anything. The game blows. Like real hard. But the art is pretty and the intro movie was inspired. Too bad the game is a jip.
