Reading will be taught using a variety of approaches – including guided and shared reading. The children have lots of opportunities to read across the whole range of curriculum subjects. There will also be opportunities for research and project work. The children will develop reading fluency, understanding, expression and vocabulary. As well as individualised reading from the class library, the children will have access to many other texts and novels.
