My Pros and Cons after playing DBD for over 2000 hours:

Pros:
+ Many killers and survivors to play as or against
+ 4 killers to choose from when you first start the game
+ Easy and harder killers to learn
+ Lots of perks and add-ons to change your playstyle
+ New content is added regularly (a new chapter every 3 months)
+ Famous horror icons as DLC (not sure if you can still try killers like Michael by using offerings)
+ Many characters can be bought with shards (earned by playing the game and leveling up)
+ A variety of cosmetics, half of them can be bought with shards as well
+ Rift (/Battle Pass mechanic) with 70 levels (if you get to level 69, you get the amount of auric cells you spent back)
+ Tome challenges added with the rift regularly
+ The more you play, the more you improve -> always something to learn
+ Overall good looping and chase mechanic
+ Fun as Solo and with friends (98% of my play time is Solo, it's not that bad)
+ Crossplay (if you want it)
+ Tutorial got improved
+ Colour blindness settings got implemented
+ Overall good graphics and sounds
+ Rewards can also be earned through community events, dailies and codes
+ Worth the 20 bucks (or 10 during sales)
+ The good fellas in the community who deserve a +rep

Cons:
- Lots of grinding, especially for new players
- Matchmaking is a mess
- FPS drops and performance issues (especially for console players)
- toxic community, especially on high ranks
- boring/toxic/sweaty playstyles are the result
- low tier killers have a hard time against good survivors/efficient teams with the current meta -> Needed reworks for killers like Michael, Ghostface, Legion
- people disconnecting can ruin the game for the remaining players
- Long queue times (survivor)
- same boring meta for 4 years
- more hackers over the past years
- Devs who don't understand their game (resulting in unnecessary nerfs (poor Hillbilly), bad MMR system, changes that aren't needed, etc.)
- Lag, desync and random disconnects
- Disconnect penality system that isn't working properly
- the usual amount of bugs you get when playing online games

Think of DBD how you want, but it is my favourite game even with the flaws it has. The Devs might not be the best and the community can drive you insane, but it has always been fun for me to play and I don't regret the time I spent doing so. It helped me through tough times and I'm thankful for it.
