This has become one of my top JRPG straight away due to one of the most whimsical and well written JRPG that has good plots and twists to keep you going.

The world and story keeps you hooked as well as great voice acting that gives you chills when characters talk mine being when Louis is on screen as he always entertains and draws you more into this story and pulls you along in wanting to see what he will do.

combat although way you progress getting stronger is different to persona and SMT it still very familiar in how you conduct combat you look for enemy weakness and exploit it to gain more turns and do more damage. Although they take a page from SMT and make status aliments something you cant ignore when afflicted unlike persona when you can normally ignore them over all combat is satisfying as always and so is level progression when powering up you power.

The music is also a very strong point of the game but like most of Atlus and Saga games they know how to make good game tracks.

In conclusion if your a fan of persona or SMT as well as a JRPG lover you will love this game, IT take me back to the PS2 style of fantasy where you had many races and a grand and colourful world to explore before most become brown and dull. If you dont play JRPG but are interested i would give this a go.

Game is fun reminded me of tim burton nightmare before christmas oogie revenge just cos of bearer dodge XD

if you have a itch to play a ps2 style game with voice acting and dialogue from those times as well this is a good game to pick up

even though dialogue can be cringey it can make you laugh sometimes too which is great

looking forward to next game

played all the star ocean games bar from the second game, this entry is a improvement from the last instalment both gameplay wise also exploration and story. the game is good its just that it does not have massive twists and turns very simple plot for star ocean this come from someone who liked the SO3 plot and ending.

if your a fan of star ocean it will scratch that itch to play a star ocean game or even if you haven't played any of the games and just like sci fi fantasy games do know that it only kinda get really sci fi over half way and the starts more a typical fantasy world with some sci fi bits here and there however when it get to that point the game does pick up quite abit and is where i enjoyed the game the most

if you do decide to try star ocean i hope you enjoy it and try the other games aswell
