I was in a gaming depression state (don't know, don't want to play any games). So, i was browsing my library looking for a game to play and noticed this game because it actually has a human picture on the cover (Lol). After a quick check, i found out it is a FMV game and decided to give it a try (never played FMV game before) and i was really suprised by quality of this game. Of course, it is not a Denis Villeneuve thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal in it, but it is really well written, well directed with competent performers. I ended up playing(watching) this game 7 times to see all the endings(didn't even disappoint the lack of a skip button). So, if you are looking, interesting to play this type of game(many choices, just sit back and click mouse), i would definitely recommend it.

I played the Surge 2 for about 55hrs, completed the game twice and i can definitely recommend it. It is a souls-like ARPG game (i.e, stamina based combat system, no detailed map and quest markers) set in a futuristic city of Jericho. The story is kind of lacklustre and it's the only downside of the game i can think of but given the fact that this is not a AAA game, it is understandable.
The map is not that huge but very well connected with many shortcuts, secrets and side missions to discover. The combat which is the most important for this kind of game, is fantastic and interesting with its own idea of so-called directional blocking. It has some learning curve but not that frustrating and once you get used to it, the game becomes so much fun to play.
There are so many weapons (with their own combos) and armor sets to try out for different builds and different playthroughs .You can get weapons and armors by cutting off enemy limbs (if you want head gear, target enemy head ; if you want weapon, target right hand, etc) and it is very satisfying. The bosses are not that memorable and some of them are frustrating to fight but some are very easy.
It is a single player only with no PVP and not even Co-op. So, you are on your own and i think it is one of the reasons that the game is a bit under the radar unlike other souls-like games (Code Vein, Remnant From the Ashes).
So, if you are looking for a combat focused decent action RPG game, get it on sale. It is totally worth it and i definitely recommend it.

I played this game for about 65 hrs and completed it twice. And sadly, i cannot recommend it. It is very shallow and boring. You will definitely feel its hollowness after two or three hours into the game. The story is pretty non-existence, the driving mechanic is absolute ♥♥♥♥, the map is big but very bland with a few enemy outposts and stations here and there. The only good thing is combat and it is kinda satisfying but you will get bored very quickly because of the other facts i mentioned above.

And there is this dlcs thing. There are two dlcs for this game and the deluxe edition includes only one dlc. You have to buy 500 rage coins(kind of in-game currency) with real money first and then buy second dlc with that rage coins. It is only 5 bucks in my region but it is very shady because there will be no sale for rage coins and you cannot refund it. And both dlcs are ♥♥♥♥. First one is more of the same and the second is you kill hordes of skeletons. That's it!

Finally, after all these times, there is still a bug in the last mission. I don't know it is a bethesda thing or not but once you encounter this bug, you just cannot start the last mission. My first playthrough was perfectly fine but in my second, i encountered that bug and since i was playing in ironman mode i had no choice but to restart the game from the beginning.

If you are still interested to get it, buy only on 75% discount.

I pirated and played this game first at 2013 (yeah i know) with my gt 610, 4GB of ram and at 720p. I was immediately blown away by how beautiful the columbia is, love Elizabeth immensely (set her as wallpaper, almost masturbated) and very satisfied with overall gameplay. But, i didn't understand the story😢.
And now, here i am, at 2022, decided to play this game again(hoping that i will understand the story as i am older now) with 3080, 32GB and 1440p. After all these years, the graphics are still up to the current standards, Elizabeth is still as lovely and useful as ever(sadly not fap material anymore) and the gameplay is still very fun. But, i am still confused about the story😢.
You know; Time flies, things change but some things don't; like the greatness of this game, how lovely Elizabeth is and my low intelligence😢.
