The game isn’t good, but it’s not bad either—it’s just fine. I’d only recommend it if it were on sale for half the price. It could have been the game Dragon Age fans have been waiting for if the dialogue and other things were better. The dialogue is just so very disappointing. At first, it’s just cringy. It improves slightly after the opening sections but still feels awkward. Modern vocab feels so out of place in fantasy worlds. Everyone feels overly family-friendly, constantly repeating themselves and stating the obvious. It’s annoying, and what makes it worse is that I can’t even express my frustration in-game because there’s no option to be mean or confrontational. My companions feel lame, and most of my choices (except in Part 6 and the ending) don’t even matter. This isn’t what an RPG should be.

Despite these flaws, the game has its strengths. The environment is absolutely stunning—one of the best I’ve seen in a fantasy game. So many games need mods to enhance their visuals, this one doesn’t. The music is another strength. It’s beautiful throughout, though it does feel slower in the middle. However, the tracks in the beginning and the end had me completely geeked.

The combat is fun, but it does get repetitive. If you wanna spice things up, you have to constantly switch up your skill tree. This makes me wish there were preset options. Having to respec again and again is tedious and time-consuming. (also the boss fights were super easy besides one where I was very underleveled)

Initially, I enjoyed the game, probably because seeing Solas again drew me in. But by the middle, it lost its spark and became boring. The ending, however, picked up the pace and felt much more polished. It’s sad that the game only truly shines at the end, at least story wise.

Overall, the only reason I stuck with it was to see how the story with Solas and my Inquisitor could play out. I couldn’t bring myself to care about my companions or even my own character. The Grey Wardens held my interest, but only out of nostalgia. It’s sad to feel this way because of how much I’ve loved the series, but this game just doesn’t feel special. I still would recommend on sale at least if you have the time or are just looking for something to play. I am just really sad with the idea of what the game could have been :( (Also, I feel like the game messes up the lore, which is why I gave it a negative review. It’s more for new players than actual Dragon Age fans </3)

the dlc has the real ending so you gotta get it if you wanna know what happen. Also, its a good game but the first game is alot better.
