At least it has Steam workshop. Someone might make a game out of this.

I can't believe people make money by selling this. I can't believe some people bought it.
Here is the review, and it says - don't buy it. Don't say I didn't warn you.
I wish I could say more, but I have nothing to say, since this game has got nothing to offer other than cheap trading cards.

Another cr@pware, run and jump game, made for Steam trading cards, given away for free by Indiegala. Gameplay is self-explanatory - run and jump, which requires you just to jump and keep an eye on upcoming obstacles, which may turn your puppy into bloody sauce. The game was designed not to make players practice, and time their action button perfectly, but to annoy them with frustratingly lazy developing, sloppy and often unresponsive jump button and unbalanced level difficulty. Just watch the Steam advertisement trailer, and you will see that player was unable to pick up all the collectible objects. Not because he was casual player, but because game's amateurish level design makes it impossible.

Luckily I kept my cool while playing this cr@p, because:
1.) I got it for free.
2.) I took the trading cards.
3.) There is the uninstall button.

I advise you not to spend hard earned money you or your poor parents made.
If you got/get it for free, and want to know what the game is all about, here is the tip: just grab the cards, and don't look back. There is no fun here.

It has an interesting concept. I like the main character, Agent Awesome. His character is well thought and well done. Voice actor who borrowed voice to him did a good job. I like the nonchalant humour as well. Agent Awesome is a type of guy who doesn’t give a ♥♥♥♥ about anything, nor is intimidated by anything or anyone, and is completely irresponsible. That boosts his charm, and thus I think his character is very convincing and funny.

The game itself is so bad, it saddens me to see such a cool main character thrown away like that. The gameplay consists of rail-road movements. You have to select checkpoints on the map tab and click those, so the agent can move after you close the map tab. As he moves you can make him run or stop, or re-open the level map, and change his movement direction again. Note that he only moves on already made route, a rail-track, you only get to choose the direction and movement speed.

The other part consists of turn-based combat. It really sucks. You get to shoot one turn, the opponent the other turn, and thanks to the unintuitive combat mechanics and user interface, and somewhat unresponsive and clunky controls - it’s bad. Hard West is example of an awesome turn based combat with firearms. Here it is really bad.

This is like a flash game that should be available on websites like Miniclip, to be played for free. It is not worth paying for it. I wish I could see Agent Awesome, with the same voice actor, with the same nonchalant type of humour in another, much, much better and more ambitious game than this one.

Video trailer represents this game as one of brawler racer games with weaponized vehicles. Type of Crach Bandicoot and Death Race thing. More Death Race rather than Crash Bandicoot, but you get what I mean. In reality, this game is the quality of an IT programming school homework. It is an impressive achievement for a developer beginner, but that is what it is all about. Having that in mind this game should be free to play at the best case scenario. However, the developer(s) ask for 6€. For price less than 6€ you can get some of the finest pc titles like Saints Row – The Third, Saints Row IV, Metro – 2033, Metro – Last Light, Torchlight, Torchlight II and Middle Earth – Shadow Of Mordor, when they go discounted. And they do get discounted very often. Comparing this game to any of the mentioned above is just ludicrous.

Vehicle handling is terrible, because controls are too much sensitive. No matter how long you hold desired direction key, car will always feel like it’s slipping on ice. Weapons pickup system is weird, I did not know how did I get those weapon upgrades during racing, nor how many of them I have got left once I started shooting. Vehicle models look cheesy, and there are not many of them available. Graphics are cheesy as well. Music is decent though.

All in all, the game is clunky, and not worth anyone’s time nor money.

I couldn't play more than few minutes, because the game felt so generic.
Hence this review is generic in return.

They gave away this game for free on Humble Bundle. I thought I got the game when I got the key, but it turns out it doesn’t work like that. I did get the key for the license to play the game, but I did not get the entire content of the game itself. All those 30 gigabytes of content this game has to offer are hidden behind the paywall. Here is how it works for people who do not have the Steam key for this game:

First you have to purchase this game. After that you have to buy the game content if you intend on using its basic features. If not, you will be stuck on paid trial, with in-game content screaming “Buy me! Buy me!” in your face every time you go into the main menu. Not only that, some campaign modes are locked behind the paywall as well, because Sega got away with what they were doing in their Total War games.

This game is Real Time Strategy, and we all expect several playable factions in it. Right? Well, Sega begs to differ. Yes, there are several game modes and playable factions into those 30 gigabytes you’ve downloaded, but it’s just not all of them are available to be played, at least not with the standard license you obtained by purchasing the game. No, my friend. You need to pay more. You get two basic factions: Germany and Soviet Union. We all know that Germany and Soviet Union were not the only countries to fight in World War 2, because we all know that was a global conflict, which means many nations from almost all continents were involved into it. And this is how Sega’s business model works – “You want other playable factions? No problem, you can have them right away, in fact, they are already part of the 30 gigabytes you have downloaded, but you need to know magic words which unlock them: ‘more money’.”

With more money you will finally be able to get the basic game content, how it was intended to be played in the first place, before it got chopped, and sold into several different packages. Not only they locked three other factions, but Sega managed to make up one of those factions. You get to play as Oberkommando West. What the f*ck is that, you m8ght ask. Sega describes it as: “The Oberkommando West, battle hardened and newly equipped, are a resurgent and very dangerous foe. Despite being challenged by an economy nearly shattered after years of continuous war, the Oberkommando West still manage to field some of the most impressive heavy armor yet seen: the technical prowess of Germany is on full display as devastating armored force equipped with a new generation of super-heavy tanks repeatedly counterattack the US Forces attempting to drive into the heart of Germany.” No doubt about German forces being elite and bad-as$, otherwise they wouldn’t have been shattering communism and capitalism in Europe for 6 years while being outnumbered at every front they fought, but they were Germans, not some random, separate faction.

As you can see, this review is not about the game itself, but about greedy Sega’s business model. Sega didn’t develop the game, but they are the ones who butcher the core game, and decide what is going to be sold as a standard edition of the game, and what is going to be hidden behind the paywall. Capitalism doesn’t have its greed limits, since capitalism is the greed itself. In the near future I can see standard pc games being served like those Facebook or internet browser games, with free access, but all about microtransactions and DLCs. With business model like that you might get carried away with the overall expenses, because the new DLCs and microtransactions get released over extended periods of time after the game's release. Do not support this business model.

The best Worms game.

It's a 3D game with fixed camera angle, so it plays like any other 2D Worms game. Graphics look cute and beautiful, as well as character models, environments and backgrounds. Music is nice, relaxing and pleasant, it fits well with each map's ambient, and adds more to the theme. Each map has different soundtrack to add more immersion.

There is plenty of weapon and utility choices, some of them which only appear in this version of Worms. Weapons are diverse and some of them have never appeared in a previous Worms, nor in Worms W.M.D, which was released few years after this one. It contains maps under the open sky, so you can use all available hand-held weapons and summon air strikes and other dropped weapons from the sky. Then there are maps with closed, underground setting, which prevent you from calling airstrikes and droppable items. And forts game type with two teams, one team in each fort.

This part of the series focuses on interaction with objects randomly placed on the map. They are destructible and inflict damage upon their destruction, in accordance with their type. It's the only Worms game with water physics and environmental damage. Besides the water physics, Stone Donkey is physics driven as well. In previous editions, as well as W.M.D instalment, Stone Donkey would just follow the gravity where it spawned, until it reaches the bottom. Here, it can slide down the curves and change its course drastically, wrecking havoc in directions you did not intend it to.

The game also contains the map editor and some worms customization. You can customize your worms' voice and helmets, not much, but it's cute.

Artificial intelligence tends to be unforgiving in campaign mode, since every hit they make is accurate, and it hits you almost every time it fires. Rare are the moments when the AI misses its target. It can be frustrating, but a rewarding experience, since the game pushes more pressure on you. That way you are forced to develop your situational awareness, aiming accuracy and attack sensitivity management. Matches against AI in deathmatch tend to be more relaxing since you have the control over the weapons of choice, map style and AI difficulty, prior to starting the match. You can create allowed weapons of choice lists and delay their spawn for few turns if you like.

Rope mechanics in this game are terrible.

Some game types like puzzle missions have irrational expectations from players, considering how complicated they are to solve. Some puzzles require you to do risky stuff you normally wouldn't, since most of the tricks they require are over the top action, which puts your worms' lives in grave danger.

Buy it when the price drops at 10€ or below, since there is a DLC available for purchase. Don't spend more than 5€ for the DLC. Total package worth 15€ seems like a reasonable deal.
DLC doesn't bring nothing significant to the table, but it's a nice all around package filled with new single player missions and multiplayer maps.

Like I said, the best Worms game. One of the best strategy games, and one of the best pc games overall.

We need to distinguish challenging game from cheaply difficult game. This game provides no challenge, but is hiding behind the cheap difficulty design, in the fashion that is a signature for an average Ubisoft game. These developers remind me of Ubisoft indeed.

You are as fragile as a snowflake who gets hurt over a mere spoken/written word, so do you get hurt badly when aliens shoot you, but the they are tanky as fu*k. The game has health regeneration system like Call Of Duty 2 and their titles that followed later, which is a good thing, but in this game health regeneration is painfully slow. Your only hope of eliminating aliens as fast and effective as you can is to aim for their heads or to kill them with the environmental explosive damage. But beware, it is not as simple as it seems, because they move at least 10 times faster than you do. While they get to shoot from cover, and can lean from side to side, you can't afford such luxury, because the game mechanics don't work like that for the player. And that is not all, as an additional bonus there are aliens who move lightning fast, and appear out of thin air in the fashion of Predators, from Aliens VS Predator movie. You get the picture what happens next... you die.

Your character can't jump over obstacles. In fact, jumping is totally useless, I don't even know why did they implement such feature. You can't jump over the smallest obstacle in the game. And climbing the walls is all done by pressing the key button, and is entirely cinematic.

They gave away this game as a part of the bundle. No wonder they used that method to shove it down your library. The game is visually appealing, but it's simply not possible that a game 4 years old won't let me run it on 1080p with all details maxed out at 60fps. My rig runs Grand Theft Auto 5 on very high settings with stable 60fps which do drop occasionally, and looks better than Alien Rage. While this game does look beautiful, it doesn't look that technically demanding. It simply is not well optimized.

This should have been a game which forces you to take tactical approach, to force you plan out your priority kills, and is not intended to be all guns blazing action-paced first person shooter. But it failed at everything it stands for, because of the cheap difficulty design.

Avoid this cr@p.

EDIT: The official multiplayer servers are dead. You can't get the multiplayer achievements. Also, couple of single player achievments are bugged.

Players are annoying 10-year-olds, good luck while playing multiplayer with them. Developers are hypersensitive SJW snowflakes, avoid their forums, since you are risking a ban. Beware, your save file might get corrupt randomly, so all your progress goes into oblivion. Lazy developers never cared to fix that issue. They had 4 years to do so by now. One of their developers, Steam username: [CSS] KConny (h t t p://steamcommunity.c o m/profiles/76561197961536496), told me to focus on the positives, instead of complaining about corrupt game files. He doesn't care about your time you have invested into this game. He wants you to focus on restarting the whole game again, after you lose your entire in-game progresss.

EDIT: After re-installing the Steam program I have lost my entire gameplay progress, because the save file got corrupt, even though I have followed the forum instructions on how to prevent possible save file corruption. I wasn't messing up with this game's files during re-installation of Steam client. 29 hours of gameplay, level 39, all gone. Avoid this cr@p.
