Being a story-driven and narrated game, Stories - Path Of Destinies is a boring action game as a result, for several reasons. The whole selling point is playing a narrated tale of a fox hero, the good guy, who needs to save his friends after the disaster that happened in the introduction game's cutscene, and of course, save the world from the ultimate evil guys, which outnumber the good guys. The developers put in player's face constant emphasis on the narration, the story, the narrator who tells the story as you progress through the game, and the choices a player can make for the different ending outcomes. The narrator will even comment if a player swings his weapon for no reason, making it feel more organic, but, ultimately, that focus on the story is what kills the game. And the generic story goes like this...

A good guy, the chosen one, on a quest to save his friends and stop the ultimate evil from taking over the world. But this time the hero is a fox. Ah, how cool and original is that. And not only that, but he found a weapon that could banish the gods themselves. Wow, much awesomeness. And in the end he will do it... probably, I don't know, I have not reached the end. The game is boring and bad. Let's have a look at the controls, as it is the only way to interact with the game and to do something.

It was obviously designed for consoles in mind. The controls with the mouse and keyboard suck. Right mouse button serves as the movement, left mouse for the attacks, CTRL for the dash, and left ALT for the grappling hook which moves the character around the world, when needed. Now imagine using controls like these for fighting five to seven enemies in the style of the Batman, Middle-Earth - Shadow Of Mordor and Mad Max series. It sucks big time. It feels clunky and unresponsive. The combat does not give the joy and satisfaction when killing the enemies, as it is not fluid. Such control scheme is not good for a game like this. Now for the content.

The game has more linear level design that linear ARPG games such as Torchlight, Titan Quest - Anniversary Edition and the likes of them. The levels are incredibly short. Like five minutes short. There are not many things to interact with in the world. There are couple of chests here and there, which drop some crafting materials. There are some breakable objects, which drop items like apples, to heal the character. The grappling hook that is being used to cross the obstacles can be a bad thing at times. If you do not explore a part of the region, but move on with the grappling hook, the "land islands" will crumble, and you can not go back to the unexplored part. Overall, the world is so empty, levels are linear and short, using the grappling hook too early will move your character in the next zone permanently, while leaving behind all the unexplored parts and there are not many monsters to fight. That is all because the game is focused on the story and storytelling. Developers take the pride in several choices you can make along the way, in order to get different endings. Let's have a look at that.

In reality, there are always two choices to choose from at any given time. And the consequences are not felt right after choosing them. I guess it serves as a culmination for the things to come along the way as the story goes. I do not know how many different endings are there, because overall the game fails as a complete package, and simply was not engaged to play until the end.

The levels are short and way too linear. There are few loot chests, which drop crafting materials. Leveling up and crafting happens in the scripted instances. The loot chests are scarce. There are not many enemies to fight along the way. I have not noticed the variety in enemy types neither. The controls make the combat clunky. All of this, because the game is focused on a mediocre story. And for the performance.

The game used to run so bad, as it was not optimised. The latest update has improved the fps significantly, as it added like fifteen to twenty fps, while the graphics remained intact. There are not many graphics options in the settings, and the game looks cartoonish and generic.

I do not recommend this game.

A lazy, minimalistic and bare-bones attempt at creating the 4X game. Everything from the main menu, to the user interface, game design, graphics, audio is so simplistic and lazy, that I can't believe it was published by 11bit Studios, who create and publish way more ambitious games than this. It lacks any graphical representation of any characters in the game, spaceships and planets as well, and looks like a kid's drawing. What you see in the promotional screenshots is what you get. The entire gameplay is focused on the text, numbers and childish design. Seeing the introduction sequence which notes "It's best played on Alienware" is such a cringe, as the absence of any sort of complexity of any aspect of the game makes it so it can be run on a calculator. I can not recommend this effortless piece of crap.

I have never liked the bald guy. Not even back in the days when I played one of the games from the franchise in the mid 2000's, I just can't remember which game was it. It did not leave a good impression on me. So many people were hyped for Hitman games back in the early and mid 2000's. I never saw him as a bad-ass character, even though the man was and still is one of the most iconic video game characters to date. In my opinion, the franchise is simply overrated.

The graphics look good, the voice acting is solid, the music is ok, the user interface is obviously designed for consoles, and the gameplay is boring. There are few ways to get to the target, and take it out with limited variety of means. But despite those few choices available, the game lacks in creativity of approach to deal with the targets. While I was playing, I wanted to do the things my own way, the way I saw it possible to do, depending on the situation, but the player will always be locked behind limited resources, which are being used as tools, and fixed game mechanics. The freedom of approach to deal with the assassinations is only an illusion. You always have to play by the rules, imposed by the game mechanics. Period. And that makes bad, stale and boring gameplay.

Not recommended.

I have never liked First Person Shooter games with lots of recoil on weapons. This one is one of that type. It always makes the gameplay less action-paced, slow and boring. Insurgency doesn't have single player campaign, and it doesn't help me with getting used to this recoil. If it had a single player campaign, maybe I would have given it more time. I am one of the old school Firse Person Shooter players, who grew up playing Medal Of Honor - Allied Assault, Call Of Duty + United Offensive, James Bond 007 - Nightfire, Serious Sam - The First Encounter, Serious Sam - The Second Encounter, Counter Strike 1.6, Tactical Ops - Assault On Terror, Call Of Duty 2, Call Of Duty - World At War, and I have never enjoyed games like Battlefield, Arma and this one, for their ballistics and recoil mechanics. I prefer action-paced, but by no means any less tactical ones, it's just the ballistics and recoil are killing the fun for me.

A very famous game franchise, which I have avoided for some unknown reason, for more than a decade. I had complete lack in interested for Age Of Wonders games. And it turns out it was a good intuitive reason to stay away, but since it became a part of my Steam library, I have finally decided to give it a fair try. How have I been… bored with it. No, not disappointed. Disappointment comes out of a certain expectation. It is a good thing that I have not expected anything from this particular game… and the game did nothing to amaze me, or at least a bit make me interested in it.

Maybe if I had started playing this type of Turn Based Strategy games with hexagons before I have played Medieval II – Total War, I could have accustomed myself to this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ user interface and the game mechanics. But I highly doubt it. It is indeed a humiliating experience to come down to this - to get off a horse and ride a donkey. It is truly a donkey, when compared to a majestic horse that is Medieval II – Total War. And what a ride is with Medieval II – Total War, an experience like no other.

The very weak and flawed design of user interface, unit management, exploration, movement on the fields of hexagon… it simply is nothing special at all. I did explore the area around the starting position on the first campaign map, but I was so bored. I did not feel a bit of an excitement when I played it. There is not much to say about it, as there is not much going on really. You can build buildings, manage the army garrisons, scout the fog of war, but it lacks something to captivate me like Medieval Ii – Total War did.

It is a boring Turn Based Strategy Game. I will stick with playing Medieval II – Total War instead, and I recommend to others to do the same. Not recommended.

So much for the famous Warhammer franchise. This game is an adaptation of the table-top game. Despite me enjoying games with turn based combat, this game is lacking in lots of things. This game could have been something bigger, better, more dynamic, more interesting, but being a turn based 3rd person Strategy game is not satisfying. In fact it limits the game's potential, and the end result is a total handicap. It is odd to see graphics this good, character models, and attention to design being used for a turn based strategy game. This game should have been made an Action game or an Role Playing Game game. What it has to offer are some minor combat encounters between several characters, and the battle rounds, which are so boring due to the randomly generated hits, misses, fall damage, so the rounds last for so long to leave an impression of the challenging combat. In reality, encounters with this few enemies that the game pits against each other, and with the small size of the warband at the player's disposal would have lasted for couple of seconds, had the game been created as an Role Playing Game or an Action game, or being both genres at the same time. Think of games like Mount And Blade, Middle-Earth - Shadow Of Mordor, and the likes of those, well, it could have been one of them... but it is not.

It has everything going in its favour: great visuals, good optimisation, good character models, nice design details, nice sound effects and good atmosphere. Even the main menu window pumps me up because it looks so good, and the vibes it sends. There is even a greeting from the voice actor with spoken messages at the menu like: "A nice day to die, or maybe live a little longer." "Will this day be your last?" "Just another day in the city of the damned."... it has everything going to hype up the player. From the cinematic introduction and its splendid narration and story, to main menu voice acting and design, up to the character models, graphics, details, sound effect, and optimisation, but fails to deliver an action-paced experience. What a waste. Warhammer franchise has a huge following among the gamers, but there are not many titles which properly justify such status this franchise has. After all these decades it doesn't even have all the game genres covered. Sure, it has Real Time Strategies, Turn Based Strategies, one ARPG, Sports, First Person Shooters, a Card Game under its distributed licence, but it doesn't branch out into all the other game genres.

One of the games that had a huge hype before, on the day of and after its release. I remember back in the days when some of my friends were talking about this game with lots of euphoria, shown me the articles about it in the various magazines, and so on. To be honest, there is something great about this game, but the essential part is a complete failure. I will break it down into two columns.

I will go with the good quality stuff first. The voice acting is superb. Jack Black, the Jewish guy who wants you to leave Catholicism and Protestantism, and convert to the "religion of Metal", did splendid job with voice acting here. Not a big surprise, as his acting and voice acting skills are always good and convincing. Especially in the role he had in acting for the propaganda piece against Donald Trump and North Korea situation... and in additional, occasional appearances to trash talk his president. Not bad for a left wing "apolitical" actor and a musician... anything for that sweet kosher money. Oh, wait… well, I will move on: The voice acting of other cast is great too. Almost each character in the game has visual appearance in the form of a caricature of the respective voice actors, who are mostly Rock and Heavy Metal music artists as well as professional actors. Some of them include Robert Halford, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Lita Ford among others. The aesthetics of the art direction, combined with great facial animations and splendid voice acting sells the story. The main menu has one of the best user interfaces I have seen, and the game greets you with some good music in the main menu. I was surprised to hear Iced Earth - When The Night Falls, Black Sabbath - Symptom Of The Universe, and Testament - More Than Meets The Eye blasting right when the game starts. The encyclopaedia websites display the list of some great Heavy Metal, Rock, Industrial, Mallcore songs in this game, but unfortunately I did not get a chance listening to them, and I will explain why in the next column. The game has some of the best cutscenes in the gaming industry. The plot is nothing but cheezy, but the delivery is amazing, with the combination of the elements which I have listed earlier.

And then, there is the gameplay itself, which is terrible. The game suffers from lots of issues, and there are many. The main character can’t jump, yet it is the Action game. There are two attack buttons, one is for melee, the other one is ranged. The combat, because of this is stale and boring. There is no block, there is no dodge, the combat is simply boring. Run around the monsters to avoid their attacks, and click as fast as you can. That is it. The action in this Action game is miserable. There is not much stuff to interact with the semi-open world as well. Everything gameplay-wise is boring.

With the combination of the nice aesthetical art direction, amazing custscene animations (especially the facial expressions of the characters), amazing voice acting, cheezy story and action, and great soundtracks, this could have been an amazing animated movie, a classic possibly. Right now, as it stands, it is just another mediocre game which gaming industry has to offer. Not recommended.

Another game made in Unity engine, basic edition, without budget... with no costs involved. The most precious currency used to produce this game was the time invested into it. And that was not too much time either.

The game has a rotating, shooting device placed in the centre of the screen, and it shoots the incoming objects from the periphery of the screen. The colour the object is painted with has to be matched in order to blast it. Using the wrong colour does not deal damage.

That is literally it, a garbage. The only good thing the game has is it makes your brain cells work rapidly. It is not worth wasting the time with this one.

Wacky physics equal ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gameplay. Specially for a Battle Royale First Person Shooter game. It might be fun in theory, but the execution is terrible. The game is almost dead, not entirely.

More like a tech demo, rather than a game, Sky Break is as interesting as that. That being said customers can not and should not expect anything different than that. Set on foreign planet where player has to explore the said planet, and gather herbs, in order to find the cure to be used for the home planet. Besides that, player also has to struggle repairing his crashed spaceship, so he can come back on home planet. That is it. That is all you do in this game: collect herbs and spaceship parts, and repair the spaceship. In the meantime, while wondering the short region of that planet, player will encounter hostile robotic dogs and environmental damage, caused by the storm lighting.

There is nothing else to do. The content offered can be completed in less than 4 hours, if one is interested enough to go until the very end. I could not. The game has potential, and customers should keep their eyes on the upcoming games from these developers, because they have great vision, but probably low budget.
