This is the best WW II air combat game there is and the best part about it is that its generally free. You can easily go your whole life without unloading a ton of money on War Thunder. That being said, I do suggest that you buy some sort of something at some point so as to support the development of the game. anyway, this game is awesome. It combines simulation with easy controls and it does so very well. There are a few various game modes that very in realism and subsequent difficulty. Arcade mode offers you quick and simple playability with various respawns and a nifty indicator that shows you the estimated strike point of your ordanence. Realistic mode combines semi realistic controls in a historical situation. You are pitted against enemy aircraft in a semi historical battle and real world map. Simulator battels are for the advanced pilots only. it combines near perfect flight models with a situation that will have you constantly zooming in on planes trying to figure out if they are hostile. In this mode you have to be careful of flat spins and stalls as well as trying not to get shot down. It is a grueling mode with the horrors of bad team coordination and friendly fire ending in your demise.
all in all it is a very good game and I definitely recommend it.

We all saw youtubers play this and i think thats why were here. The gameplay is just fine but this isnt the kind of game you can just get into and play for hours. In reality this will just be a game that will sit on your PC until a family member stops by and you say "hey, look at this funny ♥♥♥♥". otherwise this game is just a casual time killer and at that, it succeded. In general this is a good game but i wouldnt recommend paying full price for it. If you plan on buying this then do it when theres a sale.

This game is really ancient. Couple that fact with a newer PC and you have a recipie for disaster. The game plays okay for me but for some reason it is stuck as a small window with a large black border around it. I wouldnt recommend this game unless you know what to do with it...

This is a pretty good game for the sale price of $3.99 and I would have gladly paid more. The storyline is somewhat okay and the graphics blow me aay considering how old of a game it is at this point. The gameplay is a little bit sketchy to the nostalgic player though. The controls feel on the rails even with "original" controls enabled but the graphics are truly stunning and the way the gae has you play really shows off those sexy textures which makes sense. All in all I really like the game as a casual 'whip it out on ocasion' kind of game but in general its nothing to brag home about. All that being said I would suggest buying this game next time you see it on sale. It is well worth the money.
