Excellent Visual Novel(VN). I watched the anime seven years ago, and I had forgotten enough about the anime, making my playthrough in this VN very enjoyable. There are a lot of details which the anime will always leave out. Nonetheless, I often find VNs more powerful than animes since you get more attached to the characters. You have the dept of a book, but you get: soundtracks, the voice acting, and of course, the powerful writing. I am glad a official Enlglish translation was released; otherwise, I would be forced to learn Japanese or find an unnoficial Enlgish patch somewhere in Internet. This is not my 1st VN, and I can say this VN is indeed between the best ones I have played.

If you are coming straight from the anime, then I will say you should wait a little bit before playing this VN, so you do not get bored since you will probably remember too much. If you liked the anime, you will love this VN. If you still want to know more about Stein;Gate universe, but you just watched the anime, then I recommend the VN Steins;Gate: Zero. Without spoiling too much, Steins;Gate: Zero is cannon. It is not a sequel but a explanation answering, "What happened between point A to the protagonist to deliver that video to point B?"

If this is your 1st time playing a VN, then I totally recommend this one as a starter. It is shortish... It took me 30 hrs to get all endings, and during a few moments I was not playing, so I would say it took me 28 hrs in reality to finish this VN. I have played other VN's which take huge amount of time - Ehem... Muv-Luv: Altearnative.
