note: The use of colour, clever use of lighting, groovy dark music, and capybaras aid this game in standing apart from most of the free hidden-object offerings on Steam..(they included cats for good measure!) i'd love to see more like this from this dev.

execution: 3/5 (odd screen-tearing issues on a high-end monster-rig running a 2d hidden object game? when game is not in full-screen you will not be able to access the entirety of any given puzzle. one MUST play in full screen - it took me about half an hour to figure that out. achievements based on overall number of cats found rather than puzzles completed.)

hints: conditional (IF one finds a particular hidden object early on in the game then hints will be unlocked. if one doesn't find said object and can't find all cats then subsequent levels will be soft-locked until all cats are found. at least this was my experience)

music: 5/5 (beautiful, peaceful akin to games like Abzu, Journey, and Flower)
note: the mechanics are not immediately clear and this was the first hidden-cat game in which i had to check the community page to understand what was happening: one had to find some of the secret hidden objects, of which i wasn't even aware of, in order to proceed past a certain point. It was surprising to discover (on the community msg board) that there are certain objects which need to be found (which weren't immediately obvious) which need to be met in order to progress and another that one must find to unlock hints. i also find the price to be rather high when compared to other similar games that do not have these issues or odd game design choices. I would argue that a better value for this experience would be 0.99-1.50.
all of that being said, i appreciate the work put into this game and despite its flaws I enjoyed myself. I just cannot recommend at its current price point.

note: same mechanics as a hideen object game but nothing is actually "hidden" (nor as it advertised as such) but because it is similar in gameplay to a hidden-object/cat game, i will rate it with the same metric.

conclusion: adorable style and unique twist on the mechanics when compared to other similar games. i would like to see more in this vein from this developer..perhaps an actual hidden object game or a much lengthier point-and-click experience. a lot of talent and potential.

fantastic execution with positive message interwoven into the narrative of the game. definitely one of the top 3 hidden-cat games that i've played.

visiting this classic for the first time in order to supplement my 40k obsession and space marine 2 playthough and i am not disappointed. The game itself has aged relatively well (especially with the invigoration provided by the anniversary edition update) and i find myself taking (more than a few) moments to just pause and enjoy the wonderful level design and lore integrated throughout the narrative. This fantastic game is currently 65 percent off (winter 2024) and i recommend taking advantage of this fantastic sale while you still can.

this one is more fun than i thought that it would be...i bought it bc it was on sale and i'm a completionist 40k collector but have been delightfully surprised by the style, variety in weapons, myriad of enemy types, easter eggs and fun references to the lore as well as its challenging (not tedious) and fun gameplay. Like violent (NON-precision) platformers? like 40k? Pick this one up. its worth it!

note: i finished the game in less than 2 minutes. i had to leave it running just so that i had enough "playtime" to leave a review.
note II: no achievements what-so-ever.
note III: the noises made by the Chibis upon being found are deeply unsettling.
note IV: regardless of my criticism, the dev's heart is in the right place and despite the lack of achievements and ease of the game - i believe that their next effort has the potential to be on par with the standard free hidden object games that one finds on STEAM. Furthermore, after playing the game for the whole two minutes it took to complete, i didn't regret spending my time with it. sometimes it just feels nice to just demolish one of these in less than five minutes.
