For an Indie Game, as well as a non-euclidean game, it hits hard if you wanna just kick back and vibe. But if you're looking for story, this story also does go deep down a rabbit hole of the idea of a digital paradise, as well as what it's like to be an outsider when you watch people from different backgrounds are working together.

Overall, the game's theme and aesthetics are very calming, and the puzzles have many answers to them, so you don't have to think to hard. And with the rewind feature, I don't have to restart the entire level if I mess up.

Overwatch 2 should have been forgotten.

I was gifted Overwatch in 2016 on my birthday and was entranced because of its visual style, and carefree game play with abilities. Overwatch remained my top 5 to play below TF2, Destiny, and more shooter as the years go on. Until Covid of 2020. We knew that OV2 was in the works, and I even got to beta test OV2 a bit as well, but when it finally came out, I among most of my other friends we're disappointed but still hopping because we we're promised a free story... oh how we we're lied too.

While it retains its unique take on the futuristic design, keep a mass cast of lovable or cool charterers, ( I love bastion although he needs a nerf ), and an in depth Lore on Omincs and the possibility of AI self awareness and how they could possibly help humans, OW2 brought a huge graphics change to the UI, new and, " Improved " game play, and a huge oversight in how to actually earn anything FREE in a now what was once 40 to 60 dollar game. These critical flaws although bringing in new players, also turned a lot of old players away. So let me say it from someone who got the 60$ Origins edition, and had to pay for the Founders pack to get the story missions for free... and never got them for free;

#1 - Heroes in Battle pass, and only being either bough, or earned way later in the battle pass.

The "Best idea," according to executives as they bury a nice 6 ft. grave for OV2.

Overwatch is a game based around player's team comp with specific heroes, and random group of team synergy. The main gimmick of Overwatch is each character brings stylized weaponry and abilities or tools, and pairing well other players and completely dominating the game.

Overwatch in 2016 when it was 40 - 60 bucks used to have a good handful off heroes, and they introduced a new one every three months or so, and were completely free for everyone, regardless of skill level or how long they've actually owned the game. Overwatch 2 now say's, "You're not rich enough," to new players who now have to play a long period of time to unlock old characters who were once free, and have to pay for the new ones, regardless if you even originally owned Overwatch.

This doesn't sound game breaking as long as you own majority of the roster, or have at least one hero for each class, till you realize that each hero has their own counters and you sometimes need to be ready to switch to a new hero on the fly. And because this is a core game play feature requires you to own multiple hero, having only a few to pick from as a free to play is as bad as saying, "Skill issue," when in reality, its a competitive game that requires you to have more characters to counter other characters, behind a paywall. Of a minimum of 10$ for a battle pass you most likely won't complete and only receive the new single hero.
OR if you want to earn the new hero for free, play for a good 72 hours worth of play time, assuming you can't do the seasonal challenges.

You COULD argue that there is a fair competition if a free to play is really good with one hero, but what if they could do better with another hero, but won't know because its behind a paywall? We just turned a player who may go pro, to someone who would play another game because their wallet was too thin, or their life was too busy.

#2 - The battle pass, and lack of earning things in other ways

Sure, I personally hate, battlepass systems, but compared to other games systems... yea no who am I kidding, Overwatch and their battle passes are a joke that no one is laughing at.

Each pass has 80 levels, usually 7 legendary and epic skins for specific hero's you may not even main, and a Mythic Skin which is very nice and very customization options between ONLY 3 possible color variants and 9 character combinations.

Majority of the battle passes is panned out - as is the norm. The difference between this and other battle passes, besides DBD because its about the same, is majority of passes apply to everyone's main, or they have something that's universal and worth the money. But Overwatch's only applies to the certain heroes they pick for this season's pass. Whats worse is that you can't even earn certain skins you want. No loot boxes by playing the games, the credits they give you take too long to earn enough for some of the old skins. Not only that, but the lack of custom coloration for mythic can get boring and I do understand to probably animate and code them it takes a while, but custom coloration would be nice.

Although cosmetics have always been a huge part of Overwatch, and the quality skins are tailored to the character themselves. These skins continue to be fantastic, but the over priced for a small tune of approximately 15$+ each. And sure the battle passes are $10, but if you actually divide the actually skins you get from these, its still approximately a buck a skin, and three for the mythical, with emotes and other miscellaneous items you'd never use.

Now back when you had to earn them via lootboxes, it was fair because you'd get one every time you'd level up, won 9 arcade games for 3, or when seasonal events came around, they gave away lootboxes from missions, and back in Anniversary, they gave an ensured Legendary box, which even had 2 legendary guaranteed skins, from ANY previous events or missions. And in the case the skin wasn't to your liking, the in game currency which was extremely easy to accumulate, you'd have enough coins to buy one of your choosing. Sure you COULD buy loot boxes with real money, but you didn't need to, you just needed to play the game.

As the reason they removed this feature was because of, "Loot boxes in Overwatch and other games have been controversial, and some countries have outright banned the sale of random goods like loot boxes in games. They’ve also been a hotly contested feature with players, who sometimes balk at the amount of money that would be required to unlock everything through random chance." Obviously this is wrong and is proven so when back in 2019 Overwatch had approximately already made over $50 million via lootboxes alone.

Although claimed free to play, there isn't really a "Free" way to essentially get skins for your favorite character in particular. Unless you want to grind challenges for months on end for a single legendary, spend a bit of cash on the battle pass or shops, or hope to god the twitch drops give you a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you watch long enough.

#3 - The Promised yet undelivered FREE PvE

Look, I really don't care if PVE was going to be paid for or not, I care more that I put money to buy this game originally, and now I need to spend 15 dollars for 3 missions! Listen, I put 60$ into buying Overwatch, why should players who bought the now FREE to play game, SPEND more money on 3 medium replay valued missions!? I liked the idea PvE - but it is the driving point of Overwatch 2, and since its lacking what it promised, I'm not too keen on spending more money. And majority of my friends who did spend money regretted it, saying is wasn't as good as it should have been. And I agree, 3 years since the first announcement, AND ONLY 3 MISSIONS!? Come on, even Valve is faster than that, considering all they've done for the last few years is add community items and work on HL Alyx.

A short end point

Although the game is Somewhat fun as it used to be and had a great legacy, I think like Reinhart and the other heroes of Overwatch, I think its time to hang up our weapons and let the legacy burn out. This game is still kinda fun don't get me wrong. But its a hollow shell of what it once was, and I'm sad to see what it's become.

If you wan't my best suggestion of how to spend your time, just go play Palidins, Valorant, TF2, or some other game. And as for spending your money? Save it for something actually worth it.

As for a new player to COD and dealing with the meta. MWII 2022 is very fun compaired to MWI 2019, and the campaign was more than enjoyable to play. And although the graphics are a bit straining on my old PC, it still runs really well for people with non top of the line gear. The Packs in the store and custiomisation is really enjoyable as well, and the new camo-system is extremely fun and not as stressful as the last games. DMZ is really fun as well if you like leveling up weapons against not player enemies, and doing open world mission contracts. The only main thing I do dislike so far about this game is the Raids. Although 2 have only come out so far, it kinda sucks you're forced to have friends to play it. You litteraly can't just que up until you have 3 people in your party, witch doesn't help if your friend's don't like raids. Another minor thing I hate is having to constaly switching game VC off every single game, and there no option for it being off permantely. Or at least till I turn it back on. All in all though, Battle pass is a reasonable price, and the updates have been great so far, so 10 / 10.

Early Access Review
Here's why NOT to spend $25 for a founder pack, let alone $100 for gold. The players who pick Teens will win if they are level 30 and above, because they can get ranged weaponry that prevents the monster from having a chance without any mutations, or some kind of perk against it. Now at first that seems like a good thing, but if you start playing monster, YOU WILL be queued against players who are Level 40. Which means its survivor based game because you're at a disadvantage. Not to mention if they have discord or any other call service. Second of all, there is really no fair queue system either. IF you are a new player, YOU WILL be queued against veteran players, and that is a real problem if you need to level up, or just want to try and learn the game. If anyone has played Dead By Daylight, then just stick to that, because the perks, ( OR as they call mutations. ) Can actually HINDER the killer than help them in any other way. If you wanna play survivor, go right ahead. It's way too easy, and the only time I ever lost, was when I 4-stacked with my friends who ALSO never played this game. But play with a veteran who has all the weapons, it's a cake walk.

How could this game be better?
Anytime you are attacked with 2 elements at once, such as the RC copter and the molotov, make sure that you CANNOT be perma-stunned and that you go to the banished INSTEAD of constantly being stunned by the same thing. I went up against a team who used the RC copter, the cross, and the weird disco ball for the fire class, and all they did was start to shock me with the chopper, and then it all fell apart. Speaking of, I played as the wolf, and I used my howl, but the Chopper was unaffected. DO YOU KNOW how hard it is to OUT run AND kill the guy using it? If he can use it without being hindered. It gets really annoying.

"Kill all sons a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that's my official instruction." -Ellis

As an old game as it is, workshop is still loud and proud with all mods that exists. Both good for new players to zombie survivals, or for old vets who just want to run and gun arcade style. Just remember to always have a med kit on you, melees all do the same damage, and Whilibirds ar- SHUT UP ELLIS!

Think of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, but the Engine was 50x better, and you could create broken roller coasters that can kill people, and your own workers. And the DLC is tottaly worth it... To bad I haven't bought it yet.

Liked it. Fun horror game for Halloween, group of 5, and a good way to have people being jump scared. And testing who would survive a slasher.
