Played on controller with medium traction control

Wait for a sale and buy F123. Its the same game but the cars are fun to drive.

Sometimes maybe understeer sometimes maybe not. curbs do almost nothing unless its raining where it almost causes you to 360 but you can never lose the car as the rear physically refuses to move when accelerating leading to understeer if you try to accelerate too hard out of corners.

Breaking feels optional as the front has so much grip I felt confident turning in even if I didn't break in time or didn't break enough.

I would prefer if the cars drove consistently with too much over-steer or under-steer. However, it feels like a gamble depending on which corner you take.

So basically going into corners you have way too much over steer and going our of corners you have way too much under-steer. It doesn't feel like you're driving a car designed to drive at high speeds and be agile but more like i'm taking a Renault Clio around the nurburgring stuck in second gear.

Should you play this? nah, yeah it's worth a squiz i reckon. I'm off for a smoko.

TLDR: GOOD GAME, GREAT IDEAS, MIXED EXECUTION (definitely more good than bad).

(OLD REVIEW BEFORE MAY PATCH)
I want to LOVE this game and i was actually having a good time for like 2 hours. The game has some UI and system shortcomings like not being able to individually select party members but its clear the devs put lots of effort into the world and as far as combat goes i would say its really good, streamlined and modernised turn based combat. Much like wasteland 3.

After 2 hours i'm yet to see the open world in this open world RPG and the freedom i'm given is very much in the speech options which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I'd recommend playing this but after the roadmap the devs released a few days ago i would say wait until mid may before playing this. In some ways i think this game should've been released as early access.

It's a real shame because i want to keep playing but seeing what will be changed soon i think it's best to wait and start a new play through.

Most of the blaring problems with the game (Lack of VO, lack of open ended quests/levels, etc) will apparently be fixed in the coming weeks so do play this but NOT RIGHT NOW

REVIEW POST MAY PATCH. SPOILERS!!!!!!!

It's clear the devs want to improve this game and the improvements are greatly appreciated. Much of my original criticisms are either gone or at the very least lessened, with a more open open world and quests with a variety of options and solutions, even if some quests don't work half the time. For the most part this is not a problem, however i would say that better communication between the player and how the quests will change based on your choices would make this issue much less annoying. For example, when collecting the ripper's bounty, the only way to collect on the bounty truthfully is by killing both the ripper and his wife. However, in my first run, i chose to spare his wife, thinking I only needed him dead to complete it. After I realised this wasn't the case, i couldn't go back and kill her and i had to restart that part of the quest. This may seem small but similarly some quests, notably in lake deborah, koorda and merridin will not progress even if every criteria and step is completed, meaning you waste a couple of hours only to get nothing in return.

Overall, most of the quests work fine and honestly are quite memorable whether it's influencing a local election or infiltrating a local rebel cell. Even the fetch quests can be kind of interesting. I mean fetch quests are fetch quests there's not much you can do to make them more fun and while they are abundant in this game, they don't feel entirely forced or superficial. The purpose makes sense and the dialogue is usually pretty funny. XP bar goes up = neuron activation.

Every character felt unique and were always entertaining to interact with, even if most were just quest vendors, exposition dumps, or merchants but isn't that the same for most RPGs?The companions were great fun and will keep you entertained from merridin to kalgoorlie. The party banter and different personalities are always fun to see.

The only character who I think could've been improved is the main villain. You meet him near the end and he has very little to say and sometimes appears good and sometimes evil. Fortunately this isn't that big of a problem as the environment and other characters help to tell the story and give information that will inform your opinion of the villain's beliefs and intentions. I quite like this as it encourages exploration and feels a lot less like an exposition dump.

My biggest complaint other than bug fixes, quest issues and just general stuff, is the combat. I love the combat overall, but to make it even better I would allow an option to engage in combat manually, allowing you to get the jump on the enemies. Additionally, the ability to individually move party members before combat starts to get good positions, heal, etc. It's a minor change but i thought it would give more strategy to encounters.

Similarly, the way skill checks work is by only checking the skill requirement against the player character, instead of checking each party member. This essentially makes companions interchangeable and just faceless soldiers used in combat. Ultimately, this makes the party seem less interesting and encourages making every character good at combat but nothing else and making the player character good at things like vigilance, biology, tinkering.

I hope this review doesn't come off as cynical and negative. It's just i can see the passion and love that went into making this game and it's frustrating to see how close this game is to being great rather than good. The 'cyclopeida is a really cool idea and the game seemingly does a great job respecting the cultures and groups they use (i'm not an expert obviously). I love the writing and locations i just think some of the games systems need a little tweaking here and there. Regardless this game offers a unique and fun spin on a pretty well-trodden genre and has all the best intentions and love a great game needs. I hope this game gets more content with a sequel, DLC or even a version which the devs deem as the definitive version.

Even if official portal sequels were on their way they would have a tough time beating this. The quality is insane for any game nowadays let alone a free mod. The story is simple but fits really nicely into the portal timeline and introduces 2 new characters both with great... personalities.

At launch their were a few bugs but after maybe day 2 or 3 i never saw any issues.

The level variety is vast and the pacing is super quick but the chambers never felt too easy. Even the most basic chambers require a little thought. The new environments and additions to the lore of Aperture are great for world building and making this mod feel like a true standalone experience. The new gameplay mechanics were cool to see and never felt unnecessary or poorly done. This also helped each chapter and level to feel exciting and unique.

Some people have said this is the hardest portal experience and i would say it's harder than portal 1 and maybe on par or slightly more difficult than portal 2. Regardless this is so fun.

This game is... okay. it has a good concept and a great art style. It also features the youtuber charlieissocoollike as the voice of the main character but that's not to say it's a great game. the controls and gameplay are a homage to past top-down stealth games but i personally do not find it that fun. i'm not that far into the game but so far not so good. If you enjoy retro stealth games this is your thing.

This is game is a combination of two things i love: The 80s and open world games. despite the age of this game it does hold up by today's standards. I am very early on but the main character is very likeable. It is definitely worth the price i paid (£2.09).

This game is so much fun. due to it being less than £2 it is already a no brainer. also there are many game servers such as: DEATHRUN,PROP HUNT and just the normal SANDBOX.
