started playing for the art/atmosphere, kept playing for the dynamic between the 2 main characters. became the game i play after dinner to unwind.
this game has amazing atmosphere in thanks to the art and music.
tempted to go through again for the achievements and to 100% it.

concluding notes on eastward now that i finished it:
story is depressing i think i need to get the happy farming sim DLC just to give the characters a better time.
18.2 hours for a clear, overall id recommend
chapter by chapter breakdown (storywise. based on how enjoyable it was. some parts felt slow and like a slog)
ch1: felt slow to start
ch2: better than ch 1, ending is good.
ch3: POPPING OFF
ch4: ch2 levels
ch5: slightly better than ch4
ch6: they could've cut this and the story would be better
ch7: some frustrating dungeons but story good
ch8: POPPING OFF

Clever, fair little platformer with a really great soundtrack. The extra collectibles are super challenging and definitely warrant bragging rights once completed.

Coming from someone who played through Celeste casually:

First playthrough: 9 ish hours, 6071 deaths, 13/30 prisms
Second playthrough: 3 hours, 500 deaths, 15/30 prisms (so far)

The atmosphere in this game is incredible, the rhombus motif in the artwork and haunting music really drive the "drifting through ruins" aesthetic home. Some of the levels and bosses are challenging, but they're learnable. My first playthrough took about 6 hours. I've gotten every achievement in the game after about 60 hours.

Early Access Review
I've spent maybe 100 hours on mobile, and I like that it's built with "bite size adventure" in mind. Though the game is frequently updated, a lot of it is cosmetics or more grindy quests. I'd rather less frequent updates with more playable content. Story is fragmented thus far, but that's because things are still being written. If that's an issue, try DragonFable or AQW. If you're looking for a quick time-filler or sidequest, then this is the game for you. Guardian is worth the purchase because of the access to reusable travel forms, which make getting around the map much easier. The class itself is alright. There isn't much exclusive guardian content yet, except for the nature tower, but the travel forms make the purchase worth it. I anticipate seeing where this game goes in the future as it continues to be built.
