A highly interesting game with amazing music, clever (and crafty) mechanics, and a touch of chance to spice things up, although one can get by even if odds are against them (usually). Ftl is a great game to play on the road, on your way to work, or after having just rage-quit CS:GO after your umpteenth competitive loss in a row. One can play the game in the classical strategy sense, or try and come up with new techniques, such as shooting an enemy drone right out of the air, or blasting an incoming missle to pieces.

I nominated this game for the "choices matter" award, and this is one of those games in which choices are the difference between victory or depp, soul-crushing defeat. Decisions you make in the beginning of the game could cripple your run, while shrewd decisions can give you a leg up on the pursuing fleet. That said, this game is different from say, Mass Effect in that you never know exactly where your decisions will lead, and you have to cover all angles, be prepared for anything, and weigh the risks against rewards of a decision, neither of which are always obvious. This game, in my opinion, deserves the award of "choices matter."
