Sight is one of the five senses which many people feel are paramount to one's ability to live. Now take that sense and enhance it to a state which could have infinite abilities. It is an ability which only specific people are able to obtain. The Sharingan is a kekkei genkai which can heighten the power of the wielder.
The word Sharingan derives from the Japanese word of Copy wheel eye. 写輪眼, Literally meaning: Mirror Wheel Eye. The Sharingan is the dojutsu kekkei genkai of the Uchiha clan that appears selectively among its members. The Uchiha clan is infamous for their powerful battle strength which stems from this kekkei genkai. It is regarded as one of the 3 main dojutsu, which consist of the Sharingan, Byakugan, and Rinnegan. While its powers originated from Kaguya Otsutsuki's “The Mother of chakra”, its independent form was first manifested by Indra Otsutsuki the oldest son of the sage of six paths. Who also mastered the base Sharingan to later fully unlock the power of the Mangekyo Sharingan, the first mortal to do so.
